2/3 of the field is more than 5-10sec a lap slower than the top 5!

the dangerboyz don't like facts....they also don't pay attention when the Lawrences are extending their lead over him while he is slicing through an uninspired pack.

Deegan was in 100% Attack mode to charge through the pack like that. After he got to 4th he backed off into cruse mode

Jett falling and being right in front of you is the biggest motivator you can ask for and daddy Jett pulled another 12 seconds on him….rip deegs

I think that you guys are being a little hard on the guy to be honest.  He is consistently beating every other past champion, including the last wonder kid and multi time champ Prado.  Jett and Hunter are clearly on another level and Deegan is gonna have to study some tape and figure out how to go 1 or 2 seconds a lap faster.  But he is closing the gap, and I hope he gets  there to make the racing more interesting.

He's cutting through the field that fast because he's way faster than most the field.  The faster guys that would've slowed his progress are on the couch.  The top 2 are another level up on their own.

So is Prado, but Deegan is still a better passer. You can tell Deegan had mediocre starts his whole 250 career (except for this year in SX) while Prado was mostly holeshotting with how they pass and go around people.

If he didn't back off, he most likely would've caught Prado.  It's easy for me to say, but he should've kept charging.

The same way Hunter lost a huge lead.

Jett is a bad ass, that's how.

Deegan rode well today, but Jett is still faster.

I think he ran out of gas, hard to keep up that intensity at that style of riding

He probably backed it down so he had more for the second moto.

Yes Deegan 37th to 4th is impressive, but hardly a mention of RJ 40th to 7th, or Prado also crashing on the first lap and back to 4th in the second moto.

moto1 was hard to watch as a euro even to be honest. It was a complete beatdown. The field is really weak in the us at the moment. It’s depressing to see Prado settle for 3rd immediately and looking gassed. When the competition is stomped by a minute its not a good look in modern racing. I love us racing, good tracks, coverage but Malin is right unfortunately

So the euro champ can barely get on the podium even with several top guys out, and your conclusion is that the US is weak right now? Lmao

Yep. Problem is he’s not as proficient in the second motos when the track is chewed up. That’s when the Lawrences thrive the most. His opportunity was moto 1 when the track was fresh and I hate to say it but he pulled a Sexton. He’ll learn from it.

Prado was 20 seconds ahead of him so why risk throwing it all away and they stayed at 20 second gap for the rest of the race.

Deegan is fast and actually pretty exciting to watch come through the pack, but he isn't Lawrence fast and maybe never will be.

The thing is, most, if not all the hate he gets comes from the garbage that comes out of his mouth and is more than justified. If he just shut his mouth and let his riding do the talking he would gain more fans and respect.

I was just going through the post race press conference and thought that it’s a shame that he needs a good beating each weekend to act like that.

He was pretty light hearted and humble, and if he had been acting like that his whole career I would probably have been a fan.

But with his and his fathers history we all know that this is just some backpedaling because he is not winning and as soon as he wins again the nonsense will start pouring out of his mouth again.

Is it really impressive?

I mean, we have seen 16 demonstrations that the top 3 guys (maybe 4) are head and shoulders above the rest. There really is no contest.

So slicing past 35 of them with ease is hardly a revelation. He’s doing exactly what we’d expect him, Jett, Hunta & Jorge do in that situation.

Now if he was to claw his way back up to the rear tyre of the Hondas after an early crash, now THAT would be impressive.

Have to shout out to RJ, he did just as good as Dongerboi cutting through the field. Even the second moto when he wadded up on the fast downhill, got back on and climbed his way up. That was totally gnarly.

Still, team Lawrence puts 2-5 secs a lap into everyone else, hey, at least we have 2 of them dueling it, we only had 1 RC, until Bubba arrived and I think that was too short lived.

How does HD slice through the pack? He does it almost, but not quite, to the front.

I like watching him ride, he’s got a Danny Chandler/Ricky Carmichael/RJ Hampshire vibe that’s fun to watch, he looks like he’s going as fast as humanly possible. Until the brothers pull away by 2-3 seconds a lap while looking way smoother..

I see some stuff on socials comparing Jett to JMB..Its way off, due respect to JMB, Jett is an almost clone of Stefan Everts. Imo

You guys are sounding really jaded, almost like you need to stop watching moto on tv and go see it in person. ALL of those guys are impressive, even the ones getting gapped and lapped.

I figured that's what he did, but if you have it in the tank, it's worth it to keep charging.

Prado dropped about 20 seconds between when Deegan started taking it easy, and the end of the race.

If Deegan had kept charging, that 20 second gap would've closed down to zero.

Also, when riders settle for a position, they're forgetting about the chance that a rider ahead of them can bobble.

If they stay as close as possible, they set themselves up to capitalize, otherwise, the rider ahead stays ahead.

My uncle used to say "The harder I work, the luckier I get".  That's true in Mx as well.

But he was still an hour behind Lawrences.
