It doesn’t, the reason not to start it in the first place.

Something I heard over the weekend: Part of the reason for the latest bombings is that Iran took a different view of certain parts of the MOU. Particularly section 5. Iran took that language to mean that they would be in charge of safe passage through the straight during the 60 day period. When ships began taking the Oman route, they took that as violating the agreements and started shooting.

That aside:

Other than invasion or unilateral withdrawal, It's difficult to see an end to this. Even withdrawal doesn't necessarily mean the straight opens up.

Do some research on global strategic reserves. It may not seem so at the moment, but shit is about to get real.

As long as Israel ignores any kind of agreement, ground invasion seems like the only way. Pretty sure Israel  caused the problem with the last MOU. That scenario seems highly unlikely though.  Just getting the Straights open seems like a victory now. It's really the only thing that Iran holds over our heads. Otherwise, they're not really a threat to us.

Its starting to feel more like Israel is the main reason there is not peace in the middle east. We likely wouldn't have  started whatever this war is called if not for them. And just may have been able to have had the ceasefire hold if not for them.   Iran wasn't impacting the world on the level they are now, EVER.

It seems like Israel either needs to be a part of negotiations or  work out a deal with them first so there is less chance they cause any deals between the US and Iran to fail.

I really hope that there is a way for this to end soon that doesn't involve lots of death.  I hope that the hit list they put out is just them using the same style of negotiations Trump is using. And not a legit strong threat.

"Its starting to feel more like Israel is the main reason there is not peace in the middle east. We likely wouldn't have  started whatever this war is called if not for them."

You keep pushing this talking point. It must have been some real long term planning on Israel's part since Trump is on video as far back as 1988 talking about taking Kharg Island from Iran. That's some impressive planning on their part wouldn't you say? What year do you speculate they put that bug in his ear?

Don't we just need more solar panels? For our EVs?

I'm not sure how realistic it is to have several ships out fitted with these to keep the straight safe from drones or if the tech is viable enough to actually put in service,

Seeing how Trump deals with things, I don't think he'll treat assassination intel and having to switch planes,  lightly.

Well, obviously if we believe that another country is getting close to having this technology, we attack them and destroy their capabilities to develop it.  That's the new doctrine, isn't it?

When my brother was in the air force he told me that they were starting to put these onto ships and some of the larger aircraft. They have been using lasers to shoot missiles out of the air , that was what he said they were for back then. That was about 15 or 20 years ago. He also told me anything that they ( The military) tell people ( the general public or acknowage the thing exists) about  that they have a defence against it, and are 3 or more generations ahead of what they are showing.  None of that was any type of secret info at the time or now. It may have been harder to find out.  I asked him about some stuff that he told me he couldn't talk about. And I left it at that.

He was involved in testing . And had some wild video that showed how accurate  some of the stuff is.  He has stopped talking to everybody in our family for some reason that he has never explained to me. He's been retired from his private sector job with a defense contractor now for years. So I'm unsure of what's going on with him.But I sure would love to pick his mind about a lot of this stuff.

Ideally you get the countries on better terms that there's less wars. Iran is really pissing off their neighbors that used to quietly support them. In that they were against anyone doing anything to Iran. Not so much anymore.

Years ago when I was reading about the aircraft installation, the challenges were the length of the laser and the flex in the aircraft was what they needed to overcome.

It ends really easily, we just declare victory and leave.  End of story, just pull out, let Trump take his “victory” lap, and call it a day.  The damage to the region and US credibility has already been done, time to cut our losses rather than drag this out into another 20+ year conflict costing Trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives for no reason.

Long term conflict feeds the war machine well. Trillions of dollars out of taxpayer pockets and into the coffers of the military industrial complex gang.

The average citizen continues to struggle more and more, and wealth is transferred as intended.

As Chalmers Johnson said, "When an empire's economic engine stalls, it inevitably turns to military force to disguise its hollow core."

No you dont say, a tiny country of jews and "traitor" Arabs that terroist Arabs have been trying to since literally 72 hours after its inception destory it. The Arabs have all that land but that tiny Lil spot is such a stick in their ass. We have an Arab Muslim problem they leave the jews and a Israeli Arabs alone and theres no isssue.

If you guys have watched a drone display with hundreds or thousands of drones then it's not hard to imagine what they're capable of in military hands.  Scary stuff is coming fellas.  There is no defense against that onslaught.

Smoke is an effective defense against lasers.

It might get worst than that, global storage levels are low.
