OK, not really fractured clean in half, he had a broken fibula which carries very little weight (15%) and is more for ankle stability.  For it to be broke clean in half the tibia would need to be broke as well.  I know, I've broke both and was also told before surgery there might be a possibility they would use bone from by fibula to repair my tibia (bone graft).  In that case they stabilize the fibula and you go on living your life and yes riding and playing sports.

But yea, Eli is a bad dude and my favorite rider.

I had broken fibula and agree you can barely tell it's broke . You can easily ride with one

Lucas went from 39th to wherever he was.  That very possibly cooked the motor?  Who knows.  But saying nothing he could do... He could have ran a steady pace, not balls to the wall.  Not saying, I didn't fully enjoy it.  Just pointing out, he could have backed it down.  They were both full send.  As Ricky Bobby would say.... "It was awesome!"

He was a few seconds off the leaders the entire race, plus he rides a gear high like jett. The bike should have held. KTM USA has unfortunately had some reliability probs this year.

Maybe they should try a Kawi?  Worked for Chase.  Or maybe a Honda?  How many DNF's has Herlings had?

The American HRC team is responsible for Herlings engines? What does Herlings have to do with anything in the US?

They don’t. My point is all manufacturers have mechanicals from time to time. None of them are consistently failing.

I don't think it is? Without going to check, this was a mega moment at the second or third turn after the start.

Deegs would’ve been off the podium if that bike survived

All the sponsor stickers on the bike are gibberish. The seat says Honda.

Here’s why I didn’t initially think it was AI: screenshot from the first moto.

And apparently Coenen starts with an H according to the back of his jersey.

KTM America is just covering their ass as they should.

I would even go as far as most of the regional series riders have that down almost as an instinct.

I know I have it and I just was a mid field regional kid.

Yes, the Euro KTM team has to be pissed, but the boss can only be pissed at himself for letting them race.

It sucks if they broke something but in the big picture I think it was positive long term. Sasha for sure just gained a ton of American fans by his performance and his grit. If the US is where he wants his career then Saturday help that along way.

I thought the same when I saw the other pic. This moment, and a couple others were very impressive. No shortage of 'send' in the Sacha Coenen show.

I don't think they really had a choice. It's been years now that the Coenen brothers want to come over at least for a few races, and I believe KTM wouldn't let them.

Then earlier this year they announced a new multi-year deal, so I guess they must have negotiated with KTM to have this few-us-rounds included in their contract.

Prado had a mechanical dnf and lucas comes over and his bike blows and has a dnf… could this affect them wanting to come over? KTMs not looking too reliable lately. Theyre definitely going to have to consider if the Ktm here is up to snuff. Prado was out of the championship right off the bat due to no fault of his own.

Prado was never any threat to win the championship.

From what I understand, it was a contract that "allowed" them to race in the US to "their" want if available in between races.

Not pissed . It's about making money to those guys. To us it's a passion . Today those twins made millions. They made so many fans it's unreal. And when they race here next year they will cash in!

I'm sure the twins made millions for themselves, but did they make money for De Carli racing?

…I’ll tell you what- IF Sacha really did break his collarbone and STILL WON THE MOTO  with no goggles in the sand, it has to rank as one of the grittiest rides in AMA motocross in the last decade.

And for those of you of a certain age who remember, could this kid be Magoo 2.0?  Sacha sacrifices it all to win, much like Danny Chandler did.

It boggles the mind to think about this young man lining up for Supercross….

That was a Magoo ride for sure.

I don’t know why you guys insist on glorifying a guy that rode so out of control that he ended up not being able to walk

Sacha might have made more money for himself with that performance in future money here in America than he will winning that MX2 championship.

Bargaining power in his future US MX deal, he smoked the field he will be racing. Gear companies will throw more money at him because he can win and people over here already love him.
