I have had my eye on this baby for a while. Got the wife to sign off and just got her home. Always loved this gen and chassis. Thanks Brendan for the steed!!

Nice!
Very nice. I have an '05 that I bought new, and it's been a very good bike for me. Handling is terrific -- stable but will go exactly where you point it. Be vigilant on the adjustment of the electronic PV cables. There is a good video on YT ("adjusting the CR250 PV cables via the HRC method") or something close to that. Once you get the Mikuni dialed in, the motor has plenty of power. I used a JD Jetting kit as my starting point. I've found that ethanol gas really degrades the o-ring on the needle valve -- pop it out and replace periodically if you use E-10 fuel. Similarly, if you can't get it jetted cleanly, try replacing the jet block gasket. JD Jetting will sell you a new one, along with the tool you need to remove the jet block from the carb body to get to the gasket.
What year is yours?
Braap!
Thank you for this helpful information! I grew up with a 2004, 2005, and 2006 chassis (4T) and loved the feeling. I had a 2004 250r I was racing for Mammoth Qualies in 2020 before the world shut down. Sold it shortly there after and always had an eye out. This low hour beauty is a 2005 and came from a socal industry veteran. Really happy to usher in it's next chapter of life.
Great find, well done.
Btw, is a check book still a thing in the USA? Not here in OZ.

Good question. Business payments in CA can still be done with out a fee via check. Some personal transactions via check too. It just helped I personally knew the seller. I wouldn't accept a check from just anyone on marketplace.
Congrats and enjoy ! I had an โ06. Loved that bike. I found running some VP C-12 in with pump premium eliminated the ping and helped throttle response. I also had the JD jet kit in the Mikuni.
Very nice! Love those fork tubes.
Thanks for the tip!
Nice. ๐
Good luck at Mammoth. I last raced there back in 2009 on my old '06 YZ250. Even then, people I didn't know were cheering me on. I have to conclude it was because I was "the guy on the 2-stroke." Hopefully you'll get the same reaction.
Congrats. But why do so many feel the need to tell us they got the wife's permission to buy a new bike?
Thank you!
X2 on the VP C-12. It will definitely ping on straight pump gas.
Your wallet said, "Yes Honda, there IS a demand for CR250's."
Congrats and well done.

because he still can't believe she said it was OK
I sent a check to the trash collector this week, I'm not going to mail cash, not going to pay the 3% card processing fee, and if I rip him off then he'll stop picking up my trash and I'll get bubonic plague.
I don't even know where my checkbook is. Since I know the bank routing number and the account number I never use it.
The last thing I wrote a check for or should I say used a check for was the water company wanted one to setup a bank draft. My personal water bill was setup decades ago but I inherited my youngest sons home about 6 years ago. They still wanted a check. So the long answer is no!
No bike btw. I always wanted a Honda 260 2 stroke that year model but they always wanted for fir them than the comparable RM models. My boys had several of those year 125's though. Probably like 5 or so.
Ask the wife for permission? Oof. Men donโt even run the households anymore? Gayest shit Iโve heard
Sure thatโs not the wifeโs boyfriendโs bike?
It almost makes me sad to see these awesome CR bikes any longer...knowing we will never be able to buy a new Honda CR 2t is just the worst decision in moto history by a manuf. Honda really fkd us on killing the CR line up the 2 stroke in general. These bikes were the best thing ever. Awesome bike...keep it forever.
