The electrofusion back then was lucky to outlast the first piston… I did the opposite once, fresh replate and top end on an unknown hours bottom (kx250) all in spec and looked great on a full restoration. 10 hours later I was doing the crank. I never thought of adding all part numbers at once. Sounds like an easy update for these parts sites to enable that if you shop that way. I personally prefer the children’s book method of using the pictures in the parts fiche diagrams (like on Rocky Mountain atvmc) and just go down my lists, diagram by diagram. I don’t know...

Replate, when able, or OEM replacement are the gold standard of options. I don’t have any issues using cylinder works or Athena for big bores. Heck even Tusk makes a yz250 cylinder these days. Yeah It caught me off guard the amount of pitchforks that came out defending the brand… From my understanding there are some EU laws on plating/chemicals so the bolts are some type of dacromat. It's not a bolt, at least not on the '26. It's the small side number plate extension that bolts to the subframe.

I don’t have a yz, so I don’t know specifics. If it’s actually a bolt causing the hang-up, couldn’t a low profile bolt replace it? One of a different drive type if needed.
