idk man equipment margins have gotten so small even nascar teams live or die in the margins of their settings and look at the shitbox cars that sport started out with. it becomes even more important to get it right as speeds increase. now, if you zoom in on a window of like 92%-100%, yes a good pro will have a wider window than a bad pro, but its difficult to judge them all based on 50 year old standards. we can extrapolate that some riders are more finicky than others and judge them against their peers all day, but it's not fair at all to say riders in general have gotten soft.
when i say "chase is a headcase" i don't mean he's a terrible rider and should get a real job, i mean he's getting worked by 5-10 other guys on the mental side that he has the talent to beat.

even pro riders can accidentally tap and crash. Eli did it early in SX season on downside of a whoop by accident and crashed hard. Was very open about how it happened and moved on.
