For sure, it was just that line from Chad about his son wanting to do it. If Chads fronting some cash, he can get Tate a spot- you’d assume?
Yes he did. Still fast for an old guy lol
Maybe they take Danger Boy when his contract is up.
Chad can polish some edges with Deegs. Tate and fellow riders would have a couple top level mentors.
Who had Chad helped that has gone onto bigger and better things?
Honest question,

Does anybody know who bought the old JGR test facility? Looks like its been kept up with a SX Track that looks mint, and maybe an enduro SX track too?

The Mx Sports and Feld are doing very well but they have created pinnicle of dirt bike racing.
The Riordan family from Australia, Gus their son races GNCC
Mentioned in this article https://www.motoonline.com/au/profiled-gus-riordan/
I think RC asked Chad about this on title 24, and he replied with "where there is smoke, there is fire". Take it for what it's worth
Would think that is where Webb will be riding next year.
The lawsuit MJ had with NASCAR was over EXACTLY what Feld does: Sponsor Poaching.
You're a team owner. You bring on associate sponsors. You're required by Feld to register said sponsors with them. Felds marketing team then approaches your sponsor with a variation of, "when that rider gets hurt, your logo on their shroud isn't getting any screen time. We can offer you much more exposure on the stadium banner/signage and jumbotron than you'll ever get on the side of one of those bikes."
Eventually they side with Feld and end up spinning around the stadium banner, just like GEICO did. Theyre still in moto...scrolling across the digital banners.
If I had to guess, I would suspect that's why Chad Reed is the guy interested. He got screwed this way with the action camera debacle. So as soon as he saw the NASCAR trial, and/or heard about Jordan's interest, he was all over it.
If this happens, expect a lawsuit, and expect the biggest dose of mainstream exposure this sport will get in the process.
Pretty sure they would want to win 🤣
The lawsuit with Jordan’s team and NASCAR mostly revolves around the charter system, which we don’t have. I’m sure a good Law Firm could make a case and take the powers that be to court, but it’d be a lot harder to argue without something like the charter system being in place.
Exactly, entirely different legal conversations when there’s long term contracts of teams with promoters vs signing a rider up for a race each weekend individually under their name
Nascar money is on a different level than moto. If Jordan wanted to bring down moto or change the game he could just fund his own series and use his connections to bring in sponsors and make it so without leaving it up to a judge or jury. Feld would probably sell him the entire thing for the right price.
My gut says reed is letting the Jordan rumors fly but in reality it's reed looking to start a team and trying to create buzz around it. 22 2.0 inspired by brief stint at club and reed believing he can do it better.
Ever heard of Lars Lindstrom?
Simonson has entered the chat
Lars had ties to factory Honda before chad. He would have ended up where he is regardless of Reed. The Jordan thing is Reed stirring the pot. Wonder how long until he packs up and leaves club.
I would think he will be riding at the track he owns.
Pit Row
If there’s room for a Sx track
Team Two2Three or what
Can you imagine how long it’s going to take MJ23 to launch a massive suit against, MXSports, Feld, and AMA Pro Racing?
Oh, the jealousy guarded little fiefdom may bring itself down upon its own head.
MJ could probably afford to bury Feld financially, kick the AMA squarely in the nuts and start getting the entire pro racing MX/SX going in the right direction. Maybe the riders could actually make money from risking their lives.
Pretty obvious from the interview with Reed there are no plans in the works with MJ. But, if he were to invest in a team, what would be the basis of this "massive" lawsuit?
Watched a documentary about Magoo last night. RJ and Lacky on there.
Mentioned that the 20th place rider in points at the end of the year should make a 100k.
$100k Net or gross? Let's say 20th at a SX makes $2,500 and he never misses a race x 17= $42,500 gross. Nationals pay less and have fewer races. He better have a sponsor or 2 footing the bills cause this is a rocket ship to financial ruin. And this is a top 20 rider. SMX has helped, no doubt. But for $100k I'd pass all day at that money. $100k these days is not great money by any stretch. Now, risk your ass doing it. $100k is a fkng joke.
You left out the $27k that 20th place rider gets for 3 SMX rounds, plus salary from team, plus gear deal, plus other random support, plus off-season races.
I should have mentioned that the documentary that I watched looked to be 15 plus years old. Not sure exactly.
I mentioned SMX has helped. But all of this is gross income. The fuel, travel and costs would eat up even $200k up pretty quick. Can a top 20 guy make a decent living at this level? I mean, a top 20 guy in almost any other sport is a friggin multi millionaire with little to no financial worries for the rest of his life.
Yea, but if at any point the TV contracts dip that would change.
I'm not a baseball guy but the Jays had signed Gurerro to a 14-15 year deal worth 500 million. First year of the deal and his numbers are already down.
