This is for my Minnesota peeps, I am planning on hitting up Trax North for open practice this Saturday 6/20. First ride since moving from SoCal, so anyone riding up there this weekend? Seeing as NOBODY I know up here rides, I will be going solo. Also, any tire tips for this area's dirt? Currently have MX 34's mounted up...
Also, why the hell do we not have a regional track sub-forum on this site? Seems we have been asking for one forever...
Berm Benders
Little Falls and Staples
Meadow Valley (a drive for you but worth it)
Trax North is so sick! You’ll have fun dude and an MX34 is great for most tracks here.
BCMX is one of the only tracks that’s like straight up deep sand.
You'll be fine with MX34's, but a MX14 would be great too. Trax North is sand on top of a clay base. Early in the day the MX14 would be better but it will get down to a harder base as it gets rougher. It's a great track.
I live in the cities & haven’t ventured to Trax. How do they format their practice days? I’m used to Meadow’s ride as much as you want for $40.
The Shop

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
It's an open practice, ride as much as you want, $40 for big bikes.
Millville has sat practice & sun a Racer X vet race it runs with there super series. Not a big # of riders in classes, c class I think is the smallest . It’s cold here 56 & rain I hv to wear under armor . My back , hip is Very painful, it band & foot is numb. In the morning if I,m not worse I,m getting my 1st ride in . On the deep sand sx track there is some clay on it they trucked in , 2+ hrs from here. Our local track 20 min away was sold & it’s not a track now.
You're welcome to come hang out with us. We usually park up top near the sign in shack. Black pickup.
Other post above was spot on with the tires.
Burrito place with the brewery next to it in Crosby is amazing after a good track day.
Thanks for the invite, I will look you guys up for sure. I'll be in a black Chevy 1500 with probably the only Beta 450RX there. I even have some new FXR gear to wear so I fit in. 😊
Used to be a regional forum on this page if I remember right. It was dead and got nuked.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Another sick track is called echo valley. It’s more north but it’s sweet.
Trax North is the kind of place you dream of buying when you win the lottery. The times Ive been there, the lawn is mowed like a PGA Golf Course.
If you are into MTB's, Crosby is a MTB hub in MN. The trails may be a bit overrated, but certainly a good spot
That is an impressive number of tracks.
Echo Valley (aka Brookston) is an AMAZING track. It does have a fair amount of rocks, but the soil is great and it flows up and down some very fun hills.
Travis, I’m tentatively planning on attending Millville ( first timer), if I’m able, keep ya posted. I’ll be needing you to bring me some sundries and souvenirs.
Rupert, I will be there with all the bells and whistles, first time for me as well. Hope to see you my Brotha, miss ya bunches.
Minnesota has to have one of the best moto communities in the country. There are probably 10-15 public tracks within ~2 hours of me
RUPE -
If you're talking about this weekend, I'm announcing Sunday, (filling in for their normal guy) so come find me in the tower. Anyone else reading this too.
If you're talking about the national, I'll see ya there.
About 3 yrs ago I thought about moving there. Most tracks are north of the twin cities if I remember right.a lot of cool sand tracks. Motokazie series fri night series at a fair grounds I think would be fun. Plus double headers during the week at other fairs would be a Blast. I think there was 1 week with 3 fair races & a double header on the weekend.
Pit Row
How did you go from talking about Palo Duro to Minnesota? Asking for a friend.
Have you ridden at the 509 Bike Farm? I haven't ridden since cancer surgery and it'd be nice to find a place to ride that's close and low-key.
Been saying this for years. Everyone rants and raves about SoCal and the east coast but MN has the best tracks in the country.
I could argue North TX has close to 10 tracks to ride within 2 hours of Dallas. Elevation tracks are definitely lacking though.
But I can't figure out why I see so many Minnesota plates on rv's and toy haulers at tracks around here from late November through March each year when there are so many nice tracks up there in MN. Can't you ride them year round? 🥶🥶
Just kidding, I have a lot of family in MN. Great state, I love visiting
I’ve lived in Illinois, Texas, Minnesota & California. I do agree I really enjoyed the tracks in Minnesota. There were tracks to ride every day. A lot of the tracks open at 4 o’clock on weekdays so it is nice because can go after work. Main issue is there’s pretty significant stretch of non-outdoor riding, unless you’re a polar bear.
Year round riding is where it’s at. Cali has somewhere to go ride every day too.
They say Cali tracks aren’t as “good” but I can see why Cali riders can show up anywhere & do well. GH has on a Thursday & Pala on a Tuesday are smoked. If you practice that, you get good. I’ve improved SIGNIFICANTLY since I’ve lived in California & I think some of it is contributed to the track conditions forcing me to learn how to ride better. Berm benders in Minnesota is absolutely sick but I never once went to berm benders on a Tuesday & encountered what I call a gnarly track.
Anyway, I do DREAM about coming back to Minnesota to ride & race for a month or 2. It would be ideal to get out of Cali in the summer.
Texas was pretty solid too. I rode a lot in Texas for sure. The thing I remember was struggling to find week day riding. 14 tracks but all are open on Saturday 🤣. Can only go to 1.
IL I mainly rode backyard tracks. Lots of backyard tracks for sure.
We have Cedar Lake Arena in winter. Track is only 20min into WI and a good option. For the rest its travel south, or stud your tires and ride ice courses
