Yesterday I've read (I can't find the tweet) that he'll make an announcement shortly. Does anyone know more by any chance? Does he race some outdoors? Maybe an MXGP race (someone can dream)?

The sound is music to my ears.

If I were him, I'd retire a champion. There is nothing left to prove at this point.

However, we are all better off with Kickstart Kenny at the races! I hope he goes back to Suzuki for at least another year.

Nah, after putting in all that work and everything gotta run. The number one plate for a year and give it a all you got to try to back it up at least once.

I’m stoked he still rides for fun.  (Many are burnt out after a pro career)

I hope he races some more - if he wants too.

I’d love access to a track like that to roll around on in my dotage….On a smoker….

Kenny's style is unmatched.

That thing legal for outdoors? 🤔

Sadly, no it’s not. That was the 2-stroke RCH built for him to race the final round of 2016 (after he’d cliched the title), but AMA shot it down because the bike was too old to homologate. It’d be rad if he broke it out for the AUSX race it was just announced he’d be at, though.

In 2011, when Roczen became the MX2 champion ahead of schedule, he competed in the final round on a two-stroke KTM125. This was possible in Europe, but unfortunately, not in the US.

The current rules, and rule makers, blow walrus cock. That there is no realistic, adult 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke compatibility is unreal. Or that older bikes or small manufacturers can't race.... what a bunch of shit.

AMA Pro Racing is controlled by the manufacturers, who use it to market what they are currently selling, they don't want old bikes beating their latest product, that would be bad for sales.

I don’t know a lot about the homologation rules but is it basically in place so that riders of Kenny’s caliber (or anybody for that matter) cannot go race on outdated equipment and put in good results thus hurting the marketing/sales of brand new machines? Or is that just my uneducated take on the matter, I mean anybody can see that a 20 year old two stroke is not on par with a modern factory 450 and it would be about having fun and showing out for the fans

Well let’s let big bore two strokes compete against the 450. As you claim the four stroke technology has caught up. They were allowed the displacement advantage only to overcome their lack of competitiveness.

250 two stroke against 250Fs.

Level the playing the field and the tractors lose.

That's just what HEP did.

It was at Fermo - a Hardpack, Up and Down Italian Track.

I think KR had a Big Prang on one of the Downhill Jumps. Can't recall if he finished the Moto / Event after that. He certainly was 'sending' the little 125 down the near blue groove slopes.

Cairoli was set to race a 250 2t, but, only a couple of days before the event, his Mama died, so he didn't race. A few years later, his Papa died just before Matterley - he raced, and Won. I think he wrapped up ( or near wrapped up) the Title  too, at that event.

You can race ktm 125 here in US professionally because it is less than 3 years old and homologated, but the RM250 was/is not.

This 'exposed silencer/tiny number plate' fad needs to go away.

Looks terrible.

They're blue -with mud on them.

(And I feel they'd look way better in black.)

I was talking about the black rim fad in general.

I liked the R/W/B on the Betas; don't like that they've gone to R/Bk. 😝

I bet that RM still handles better than any other brand new 250 two stroke
