Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
I see. You're one of the clowns in the beer cage during a national? Figures.
MX races aren't cheap, but any sporting event or concert seems expensive anymore.
As long as people are willing to pay, it won't change.
Hell, my wife wanted to go to a Morgan Wallen concert near us. But when I saw the price of 2 tickets I about shit! But we haven't been to a concert in a while, so we sort of lost track of how expensive tickets are. We just couldn't justify that much money for a couple hours of entertainment.
But that said, concerts sell out on a regular basis, so people don't seem to think it's too expensive. The SMX Nats seem to be a decent value when compared to other sports.
You're not even close to on target. I coach on an elite development team and all of our kids race NICA.....and they race all the Pro Cups, Nationals, and Internationally. Several of our kids have grown into pros. This is not unique and the National scene is strong.....strongest in junior categories. Local races here see 50-100 entries in JV and Varsity. Sounds like you are bitter because an entry fee is expensive. Everything is expensive including promoters insurance, cost to run events, timing systems etc.
No, I just respect businesses that do not allow you to bring product in they are selling. I don't show up to a restaurant with my own meal and then use their table to eat it.

Check your logic. They were devo before they were nica. The Devo kids here barely even do the nica practices. Nica race formats are a joke as far as actual mtb development goes. Shorter than cyclocross races. Varsity girls do more laps than JV boys. as a coach, having elite kids spend a weekend on nica is almost a step back unless they're varsity and even then. And you can't turn varsity until junior year usually. Maybe if the races were in the fall prior to cyclocross season they'd be decent prep.
What devo team do you coach? You're in SLC?
You are lost man. NICA races are not shorter than cross and they are in the fall. Have a good day.
Not here they aren't they're in spring when all the real races are happening..maybe your program is better. Your JV boys get to run as long as the varsity girls? What devo team do you coach?

Def worth the $84.80 I paid for a ticket today. Not an EZ up in site, maybe one Sportsbrella. You may get better views from the couch but you don’t smell race fuel and hear 40 bikes ripping off from the start gate and around the track! Perfect weather, good friends. If a race comes close to your town, get a ticket and go!!!
At the High Point AMA National they ONLY let EZ Ups about 40 yards back from the fences, way higher than most attendees would be sitting or standing. Doesn't seem to affect viewing and they spray paint lines in the grass where they are permitted. Grab a lawn chair, hat, camera, sunscreen, and cooler, and go watch a race in person, Peacock has replays !!!!
based. this is the way.
FYI I only heard air horns in one spot of the track yesterday…and only a couple. It was glorious! And none believe it not at the podium. Thank you organizers at Thunder Valley!
When he dressed High Point up like it was the Belmont Stakes last year and had his Town Crier Weigandt calling it "The Country Club of Motocross" he was screaming to the core of the sport that he doesn't want them there.
My all-time fav, however, are the Lorettas Regional Championships. That's "we want your money, we just don't want you at the ranch, crowding up our summer vacay"
I like this and it should be a rule at every national!
maybe
well after my bitching we still paid and went lol...
My god, i'm convinced they could raise the price to 200$ a person, and still sell out. because for whatever reason the people in colorado seem to show up to the national and they do not show up to the supercross lol. (Denver SX, was no wear near capacity this year).
The outdoors rule, in person is the best. Not Gona try and go to all of them or anything but I wouldn’t miss the local one.
FWIW it’s worth I just went to the Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora a few weeks ago, one of the biggest dirt late model events at the best venue in the sport. Our reserved grandstand seats were $35 each night, beers $3, mixed drinks $5. Tons of food trucks and track concessions that were a little bit cheaper. Free parking 5 minute walk to the gate. Dry Camping around the track is pretty cheap too. I haven’t been to a national in a handful of years, I remember paying like $65-$70 for a ticket and pit pass. Same thing is just over $100 now. Still nothing like a pro national though, beats a Supercross in person hand over fist.
Pit Row
Mile High seats…70kish people. How many do you think were at Thunder Valley? No doubt it was busy but I had no troubles finding good viewing spots all over the track. There’s no way you could fill Invesco to capacity for SX. I mean, the entire top row isn’t even open for seating at SX. $84 for MC isn’t bad at all imo.
Haven't gone to Thunder Valley for a couple of years mainly because of getting out of parking lot at the end of the day. Prices have gone up as well, but I really wanted to see the 4 brothers and what's his name this year. No view problems with ezups as most people bringing their own shade use low setting umbrellas/sunbrellas. Thankfully, I have never experienced the level of "assholeness" at Thunder Valley that some of you witness at other nationals.
All in, to take my son and I (tickets, pit passes, parking, a program, and gas) came to just under $300. We bring our own food and water which saves a lot.
Great day of racing and worth it for me to have the memory of sharing it with my son.
Those prices are very reasonable!
It was only like $75 to go to Thunder Valley and it was worth every penny. It was an awesome day and honestly 10 times better than the Denver supercross has ever been. Beers and spiked beverages were only $9 compared to $18 at the supercross. I never stood still for more than a minute or so, checking out different parts of the track, which is a hell of a lot better than sitting in the hard seats at the stadium. This was my 15th year to go to Thunder Valley and it was probably my favorite time at a race in a really long time. Thanks to Jett, Deegan, Coenen brothers, Shimoda, Kitchen and all the other guys that made the day an absolute blast! I also ride my 690 to the race, so I never pay for parking and get to park right by the entrance gate every time. Can't wait for next year!
UPDATE:
At the High Point AMA National they ONLY let EZ Ups about 40 yards back from the fences, AND have signs posted where they are permitted.
We don't go anymore either . Redbud is 2.5 hrs which isn't terrible but you can't see shit and it's usually hot as fuck . There is no attraction for me to go watch a national race . We did go to the last Des Nation at Iron man it was cool but again can't see shit and had to watch it on TV anyways.
I caved and purchased a preferred viewing ticket for Southwick this year since I’ll be going solo and don’t have to hear anyone else bitch about the price. $220 after fees for one ticket and the pit pass. I know it’ll be decent viewing, but still steep.
And you’re stuck in that one section all day. They later offered a SUPER VIP that gets you in to all of the different VIP sections but it was almost $500. It sold out just like the rest of the VIP tickets so I doubt it goes away.
No national has ever sold out or ran out of paid parking either
Super VIP I haven’t seen that one yet is that new?
My MXoN VIP cost $2000 + camping and + a ticket for my wife just to sit in the RV
Report back after the race! I'd like to hear an honest opinion about how much better it is to have access to restrooms, food, and not standing in a block of people
No he is not. He can still walk around wherever and likely gets preferred pit access too
