Lotte Van Drunen will race Thunder Valley and High Point

After a couple bad races, the WMX champion from netherlands Lotte Van Drunen is only sitting in 9th position in the standings. Pretty much out of championship hopes against Daniela Guillen and Kiara Fontanesi, Lotte will go against the american ladies this week-end and in High Point.

I’m honestly pumped for WMX. Would love to have Lotte come over full time next year, but it ain’t going to be easy. The girls over here are ripping.

That's cool. I just saw some highlights of her racing WMX in Sardenia (I think, it was a sand track), and she is pretty damn fast. It'll be interesting to see how our ladies stack up.

Anything that helps build up the interest in women's moto is a good thing. I wish her the best.

It will be interesting to see if the fitness that Lotte has from running those longer motos makes a difference against the sprinters over here. Not doubting the fitness of any of the ladies here, but it might play a part if the track is really hammered.

Also, I'm not sure I've ever seen a rider who is more conistent with their technique than Lachlan Turner. Her elbows are always up, her back is always flat and she rarely ever puts a foot wrong. You can tell she's just been drilling this since she could twist a throttle.

Is the 1st moto streamed or shown anywhere "live" ? I believe it's run on friday ?

Was really cool to see the wmx race last weekend between the moto's at Hangtown, these top riders where flying! Great to have Lotte competing along them for this race!

Well she had that crash just last week so I'm surprised she even lines up already

I think im more excited for this than for the coenens coming to race. If she can get a good start i expect a goooood battle between her and turner.

Don't be too quick to leave Charli out of the mix. She proved last weekend that she's willing to send it for a win. Hopefully Lotte's not too banged up from that crash in Latvia, that was a pretty nasty hit.

Thanks, thought it was last weekend’s race. Should make Thunder Valley’s WMX even better if Lotte’s had more time to heal up.

Charli Cannon went 3-2 at Hangtown. She also raced last years WMX GP finale in Australia and went 7-3 after being 2nd in time practice.

So based on that i would think Lotte is not going to smoke the AMA girls and she wont be smoked as well.

These girls are killing it. Great racing and I'm just as excited to watch her as I am the Coenens.

A lucky ( in a bad luck situation) young Woman.

When I saw this happen, I thought she was not going to get up from that.

I'd say that was a near 15ft, straight down, slam into the ground.

To not have broken / dislocated something, well, it's a testament to how fit / strong an  athlete she is - with a fair bit of luck, thrown in.

I wonder how damaged she may be for this weekends race?

Cripes, yesterday I hooked one of my crutches on  an edging stone in the garden, landed on my RH shoulder, and had it pop out of joint..... but, I'm old and ruined, not a fit, young athlete.

Something I've noted before : the change in Kiara Fontanesi's physique really has been remarkable. From being very much 'built' like Guillen ( the Spanish Rider currently dominating the WMX GPs) during her , what was it, 6 World Championships, to now being so very different. She was supremely fit then, but now, supremely fit again. I'm so often surprised in the changes to Women after having children - especially Sportswomen.

She's now 32, with, I think, at least 2 Bambinos, and looking as fit as a fiddle, still blazingly fast, and quite a few Kilos lighter than  years ago.

I remember Kiara doing one of the US Nationals , blitzing  Fiola and the other Women, but then, stopping at the edge / top of the final jump to salute the crowd, and nearly rolling backwards away from the win....... 😲
