It will be interesting to see how Star handles the changing sound rules and the new 250’s updated bore and stroke next year.

I really liked the simplistic design of the old motor, I will probably be waiting for the 28' model so they can work out the kinks with this one.

One Japanese brand left to announce their 2027’s, Suzuki. Are we gonna get an updated RMZ and new KX 2 Stroke in the same year 😂

I keep reading about the bore change but in the link ML shared it says 77mm bore x 53.6mm stroke which I believe is the same since 2001.

The 2024 we have that only runs 750cc of oil and the drain bolt hidden at the back of the engine is the single most stupid thing I've seen on a dirtbike.

Hope they changed it.

Does anyone know if the YZ450F has any changes coming down the pipeline?

This is the one that I have been waiting for and not going to lie, I've been a little bit worried about. I have been a big fan of the YZ250F style of power, especially since '14. And it's really the only 250F that I keep going back to. So with the sound regs in place and having to choke it back, I was curious how they would handle this. And now with the change in the head, along with the bore/stroke change, I feel like it may make more peak hp but run more like a KTM and not have the instant response and recovery that gave it the character it's been known for. So I'll be very curious how this goes. I really don't want smooth and linear, with all the power up top, on a 250F. I like it very lively and fast revving, even if I need quicker upshifts. Plus, the ability to sometimes pull a taller gear in turns was always a plus. Maybe it'll all still be good but I'm not so sure. I also noticed that it gained like 5lbs.

A lot of their power delivery comes down to their gearing and throttle body designs from what I can tell.

You ever see where keefer used a Ktm style throttle body on his Yamaha and it made it way more linear?

I’m thinking you may still be in business if my low iq interpretation on it is accurate.

The five pounds is interesting, maybe from sound damping and beefing up the transmission?

Not to mention an all-steel clutch basket and now another master cylinder plus a slave cylinder, hose and fluid to replace a cable.

It all adds up.

Release states it has a finger follower valve train. But that engine pic looks like the current cam on top of the valve buckets? Possible the followers are only on intake side?

My 2019 was 234lbs, so I don’t see much weight gain maybe I missed something.

After all new Honda and 2-stroke Kawasaki.. Yamaha should have made 350f and would kick them back to top.

It changed, significantly, twice since then. I just pointed out on Yamahas site the '26 was 231lbs wet and '27 was 236lbs wet. Just worth noting.

Interesting the ability to lock the ecu via the phone app to prevent theft.

Does it comes with a spare set of eardrums that you’ll need after you blow them out riding this bike?

Thanks, I didn’t know that.

Yeah sounding very ktm ish now.

All they needed to do to this bike was make a better fitting air filter. Give it dual injection and a steel basket. Thats it. Wins every shootout and sells out before needing to be discounted.

Didn’t Honda go to finger followers in 2018 and it was an absolute dog of a motor?

PR will have a lot of "championship winning DNA"

"Championship winning BNG's"
