Where did you find the bore and stroke on the KX327?

Blown away that is has a 6 speed so freaking cool

SAME. They have left virtually nothing to squawk about.

Price, 6 speed, EFI, larger translucent fuel tank, factory skid plate.

Well done Kawasaki. I can't wait to get mine.

Exactly! My only and I mean only complaint is that there isn’t a headlight option. But aftermarket options will definitely take care of that!

You're really driving home the point I was making, that a new bike is only speculative until there is a new model announcement.

you would really serve yourself better if you just said i was wrong and you guys were right. Not hard to do. you are digging yourself deeper hole. Inst that what that Mertile guy did with the Lawrence's?

Curious to see the bore and stroke.

I'd guess close to square, 74.5x75.

My Maico 320 was 76mm x 70mm, for 318cc.

It was quite the vicious engine, until I played with various PV springs, made a PV spring Pre-load adjuster ( it was a Exhaust Diaphragm PV) and, Machined up a Much heavier Brass flywheel weight for the Motoplat internal rotor  Ignition I fitted after the bloody SEM ignition flywheel flew apart.

But this is a Modern Engine ( the Maico was already ancient in '89/90) , so, I'd hope / expect  it's something like what you, Last2Stroke have put as a guess.  The Beta is 78 x 73.6, if I remember correctly.

I'd not be surprised to eventually see a 250 from this base engine.

And, I always chuckled at those who thought it would have a Steel frame, when Kawi  have been making Aluminium frames for decades now.

Same with thoughts of a Carb instead of  EFI.

For a big manufacturer, they'd not have a hope in hell of getting whatever exemption that Beta / Sherco seem to have, for road use with a carb, so EFI was inevitable. For  Volume sales,  in many markets, they'll eventually have to produce light etc equipped bikes, for Rego / Plating.

And, bestest of Bestest - it's got a Coke Bottle -esque Swingarm!!!! - that I don't see on the new 450 😀😃😄😆😁🙃

Of course, it's far too much to hope that these new mid sized 2ts will ever be allowed to race with 450s.......... they'd be just too big and scary for the poor little defenseless 450s, wouldn't they? The rules are a bloody joke!

I highlighted the fact there was no credible model announcement.

For starters, you said the two stoke sounds in the initial promotion were mistakenly put in there by the marketing department and there was never a plan for a new two stroke. Can I stop there or shall I go on?

I'm surprised that the engine size is 327cc. It doesn't have to be a 250 or even a 300, but 327 is kind of... weird. Oh well, who cares?

Aluminum frame, electric start, fuel injection and bluetooth connectivity? It's like they took us 2-stroke fans seriously. This bike is a great release, and I hope they sell a ton of them!

Between the KX being a 327 and those rumors that floated around of KTM testing something closer to a 360/380 two stroke, maybe the OEMs are testing the waters for a possible push to larger bore 2 strokes being an option again? A man can dream.

Looks good. No mention of a counter balancer, she may be a shaker.

Similar to the KX100 being replaced with the KX112 a couple of years ago.  Or the YZ426F way back.

These displacements are on par with a modern 450 i'd guess, which must have been well thought out by Kawasaki. Kudos to them for being the first Jap company to bring a gun to a gun fight. Maybe the AMA and Feld wake up now.

Wow - I was a bit too much of a devil's advocate I suppose, I am shocked SHOCKED there were zero spy photo's of this thing, hard to believe.  But here we are and I am very very impressed.  If I would of known they were coming out with a MX bike I'd say 0.01% chance they'd make an 'enduro' specific bike that wasn't based on the MX bike....like the KX450X vs KX450F and KTM's lineup of 300/450 SX and XCF models, basically an offroad version of the MX bike....but here they are with a wide ratio trans with low 1st gear, big fuel tank, clearly aimed at KTM.  Headlight and fan should be easy adds - I'd bet money they'll have a factory Hard Enduro team too.

Well done Kawi!

Now it's time for Yamaha and KTM to step up....

Yeah I'm shocked, my sources were really confident in that story.....perhaps this Vital thread with everyone saying they would buy one was enough for Kawasaki to take action?
