I think if you're interested in Euro5 compliant, 230lb, e-start, large displacement, injected, Enduro focused twoatrokes, you'll have a great way to spend $11,999.99

Making the bike that would sell the best long term in the most markets would be the wisest move.

No spy photos is crazy.  If it’s true that they’ve been testing it for literally years now, and nobody leaked a single picture.  Damn!

Exactly - I think sometimes those "spy" photos are really planned leaks to continue to keep interest up, but considering all we have is that one BS 10 second add 1+ year ago, my money is on yeah they had probably planned something, they likely had a operational prototype at one point in time (which would explain some industry insiders claiming they've seen it) but leads me to believe the development was stopped before it was moved from prototype -> pre-production.  I think the pre-production is where you typically see "spy" photos so you are not looking at some hoopty off color frankestein prototype.

My money is on we'll never hear a thing about it again.

Rumor is the new bike will have disc brakes and radiators as well. I'm not sure how they expect it to sell.

I’m guessing the NDAs being served up by KHI are fairly robust.

Ahh...the classic if he's wrong = he's a liar, I've had a lot of practice with my wife over the last 25 years with that one.

What was his quote?  Even if he heard it from a reliable source or rode the damn thing, doesn't mean it's going to be green-lit to go to production.

I'm not saying it won't happen - but just trying to be devils advocate a bit here and take a read on the opposing side of this narrative.

I'm impressed already, even if it never sees production and sale. The fact that nobody has yet seen a picture is remarkable. Why? Because my friend at Kawasaki, who has no reason to lie to me, says it exists, it runs, and the test riders have been riding it.

From the info above, I can guess that:
1) It made it at least to the 1st prototype stage and maybe preproduction;
2) There were probably several copies produced so it could be tested in the US and in Europe, as well as Japan.

Like I have said before, I believe that the bike is still on track to be a 2027 model and will be released some time before Christmas. If we get beyond that and there's no bike, well then they decided not to release it and in my opinion it will never get sold. It's now or never for this thing, as exemplified by the sentiments in this thread.

There are leftover 26 250sx for under 8500$ in nc.  Pretty good deals.

I grew up  a Kawi fan/rider.
But, why would they release this news of a 2 stroke so prematurely?

Back when this news was released, Ducati and Triumph were not even considering designing a mx bike.

I can assure you Ducati and Triumph have been working on this for years. If you think they just magically sh!t out bikes in a year and a half then you’re an idiot.

Triumph was in the works back in late 2022 and Ducati was like mid year 2023.

Your post wasn’t satire, I’m pretty sure you’re the one with the closeted boyfriend considering you went straight to gay jokes. Sounds like someone isn’t comfortable with their own sexuality 😂🌈
