At least it’s not like last year where the first 3 rounds the videos would only make it about 10 minutes before freezing and restarting. Still annoying
When was the last time there was no KTM Group bikes on the MX2 podium? Strange to see, but cool nonetheless!
I like that Herlings still can win. Sue me.
The greatest duo of child prodigies in the history of the sport are still getting it done despite the shit they had to overcome. It's awesome
Haha yeah.
Herlings, Kenny, Tomac and Febvre all showing that age is just a number and that a lot of us are stupid for constantly bringing up the age topic. I absolutely love to see it.

Funny how that pretty much turned out except that Herlings never went to AMA despite saying he would when he was a kid. I for one am glad he stayed in Europe.
That was a brutal crash. Dang.

Here's something for you to consider, kaidodragon :
Make a listing, showing The Championship points, but, with sub listings showing the Points gained from the 2 Motos, And, a listing for the the points earned through the Qualifying Motos.
There's a shedload of points that can be earned through the Qualis. Not being a 'Maths and Statistics' man like you, I've not really added up the points gained just through the 2 Main Motos, but I think, 'Larges' lead is greatly assisted by the points he's got through the Qualies.
And, that, is how it should be.
I like that the Qualis have been 'raised' above just start positions, and their risk is being awarded with points. Stops it from being a bit of a procession, and now to something of quantifiable value.
As Always, I really appreciate your Stats you put up kaidodragon !
Insane how Lucas and Herlings both had a mechanical dnf and they're still both over a full gp ahead of 3rd after only 6 rounds
Farres could be leading MX2 also without Triump gearbox failure.
Yeah, but Febvre, Gajser and Vialle also already have a dnf each.
Febvre and Vialle's dnf were their own fault though
To be fair Sacha also had a dnf in Argentina when someone else crashed in front of him which wasn't really his fault
Didnt Febvres bike had a mechanical at Arco? Or that might have been the qualifyer cant remember
So it's a two man Championship, 1/3 into it.
They need to start thinking about providing throw-away race(s). At least one throw away would keep it more interesting, maybe even two. Probably 3 Motos would be best, but it's difficult to explain.
Qualifier
I've thought the same thing. Fly aways not eligible for throw away, though.
Pit Row
Yes and no. If you listened to post race interviews Herlings could barely speak because Lucas pushed him so hard. Then Lucas just speaks like it was another race.
Any word on Benistants condition?
Herlings realized that it's more beneficial for him to act very complimentary and downplay. I'd bet he still wants to win pretty badly and that he'll get better. Unfortunately a big injury is the elephant in the room
Ya but he was still exhausted and admitted it’s hard to keep up with these kids. His words not mine.
Adding sx to the equation will be quite a variable. Way to early to say something like that when he's never been on a sx track
This exactly. Jett (also Hunter now) manages to keep this level in MX and obviously looked faster than anyone at every MXON while doing SX aswell. I'm not sure yet if both Prado and Lucas can do the same in the future, also Vialle looked completely different in outdoors than in MXGP once SX came into it. There is a big difference between having the the whole winter/pre season of only riding MX and only having a couple weeks of testing like they have in the US.
Time will tell, Lucas is a very rare talent and we have likely never seen a 18/19 year old this good in the MXGP class but nobody knows if this is going to be excactly the same in the US and very bold to predict anything at this point when we haven't even seen him ride SX yet like Chris said.
The dynamic between Herlings and Lucas is starting to get really interesting.
How’d you mean?
The once FMOTP vet vs the new young star, a calculated rhythm vs blazing speed, wily tactics vs youth and enthusiasm……all that.
While I think Lucas has a touch more pace and is a phenom on the rise, what Jeffrey is doing is equally impressive, he rode a brilliant race in the second moto yesterday.
The first turn and exit layout was terrible.
During the replay, I noticed this funny pit board.. apologies if already discussed!
Are they related?
