After a surprising supercross season, it looks like Prado will start the 2026 outdoor campaign healthy and happy with his team and machine. More than supercross, he has a lot to prove in the US nationals. How will his first race go?

Poll

Will Prado finish on the box at Pala?

This is one of the most exciting round 1’s of motocross in a long time. I’ve never been so excited for a season to start like this since Villo, Stew, Reed.

Now we got H Law, J Law, Eli, Sexton, Deegan, Prado and more.

Will it rain 3 weeks from now on a Thursday? How long is a piece of string? None of them are a good bet haha

Because he crushed it on the rutted east coast SX rounds? If anything, I’d think Pala would be one of his better tracks.

Nah man, euro automatically = best in soft, rutted track... and rain!

He’ll get 2 hole shots. Then fade back outside the top 5. Ride a wide bike. Then he’ll blame the bike and start giving a half ass effort.

It didn’t work out that way in Supercross. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That was more comical than anything. What was more comical was people losing their minds over it, lol

Zero chance he is outside the top 5 unless he has crashes.

Prado fades in sx, what leads anyone to believe he won't fade similarly in mx?

Zero chance, really ?

If he gets a bad or mid-pack start, I just don't see the (haven't yet) drive to get to the front from him. He has almost always gone backwards in SX

What I remember people losing their minds over was how he suddenly wouldn’t make the MXoN, again.

Other than last year, how often have you watched Prado? Zero chance. Even in his GP years he wasn’t known at first for being able to come through the pack but he got much better at it.

Prolly the 4 world championships in MX. At least that’s what I’m thinking.

If you need that explained to you, your mind is made up.

Or you could answer an honest question instead of providing nothing additive as a response?

I get it, former mx gp champ.  But since then... he's been injured, had surgery, fitness questioned.  His race pace seems to trail off in short duration comparative to mx motos.  And we've seen it all supercross season.

Fading during your first season of SX is somewhat understandable, I can’t remember exactly where but JT said in a podcast last year “Prado is one of the fittest guys out there”. This was last year but I’d venture to say his fitness hasn’t exactly gotten worse over the last year

No amount of fitness will fix riding tight and getting armpump in SX...
We also don't attribute Tomac's one off weirdo performances like Nashville to a lack of fitness

I forgot that Prado trains with Aldon Baker; fitness shouldn’t be an issue. I also forgot his surprise podium appearance at A1. He’s having a helluva year…

Yes, with Tomac it's usually other potential reasons brought up: age, lagging injury, his feeling "off" that day.   But Tomac has shown he can run upfront and podium consistently when healthy.  So a moot point.

So in SX Prado is riding tight and getting pumped up.  Ok, I can buy that.  Still, that isn't expected to continue into outdoors?

I don't expect him to ride tight, miss rhythm sections and get armpump during outdoors. But maybe I'm wrong. I just dont think the whole SX fading has anything to do with fitness. In the wet races he started to fade on lap 3 - clearly he's not THAT unfit... I think it mainly has to do with tight racing and ruts. Not sure why he does 90% of laps in the offseason alone on a test track in Cali. His weakness clearly is keeping a flow while battling other riders and understanding how a soft track changes over the course of a main event. None of that will be a factor outdoors.

I think a better Poll would have been "How many times will Prado cross jump at Pala".
