I was in 5th grade when Sillybandz were the big thing. Kids got so crazy with them the school started mandating how thick the wad of Sillybandz could be on your wrist.
Subway Honda
Sounds like someone is friends with a VP of the forestry division and they had marketing dollars to spend. I don't think they are expecting a direct ROI, more of a brand image building move. -Professional Cycling's house of cards is built on those kinds of sponsorships.
Wasn't there a race last year "Brought to you by" some movie?
St. Judes is a strange or interesting sponsor.
Call of Duty, atleast EA had a Supercross game they were promoting.
Bass Pro Shop
That company made a little of everything. But something like 90 years ago they made ammunition.
Yamaha dropped them because they made ammunition PREVIOUSLY in their history (not currently), then wasn't public about the reasoning for fear it would anger their base consumer.
True story, I was always surprised this didn't get any coverage. There's enough info out there to verify what I'm saying
That was Factory Honda during the Woody Woodpecker/ Universal Studios days. I believe they also ran a Jurassic Park graphic in 2001.
What's fake about it?
WTF?
Husqvarna was a firearm manufacturer, and still uses a gun sight as thier logo.
Is that scaring the public off?
How many people bought a boat because of this sponsorship?
I’m pretty sure Solitaire ran Slayer graphics right?
You owe me a coca cola 😁
Pit Row
And gear.
The same amount of Only Fans subs I purchased.
GP’s have had some whacky ones over the years :
Back in the day Andre Malherbe was sponsored by a French chewing gum company called “ Hollywood” .
Lackey was sponsored by Pernod - a liquor company.
Cadbury candy company sponsored a Yam team.
A ton of cigarette CO’s - Camel, Winfield, L&M, Marlboro.
Berry flooring company.
Mapei paint company.
ijsboerke ice cream sponsored a bunch of GP guys from Belgium - Everts, Geboers etc .
The Pro side of 3D racing Yamaha team was started with a good sized sponsorship from EZ wider rolling papers. Back in the early 2000's I was talking with the Team owner and he told me that they got over $1.5 M from EZ wider during the time they worked with them. I don't remember how the deal came to be, he told me some of that story too. But it was a longtime ago and there were always rumors about the team since they were from the area.
A local team I worked with was able to get the Marines to sponsor them. And had a deal with the NE Patriots before the team had a paying primary sponsor. They worked out some sort of deal to allow them to run full NE pats themed graphics .
I did renderings for Apple, every beer brand, 5 gum, and so many other brands they pitched to. It was fun to do the renderings, more fun than the real graphics. Less rules during that stage. The final designs had to have logos in set spots, set sizes and some had colors that had to be used behind the logos. So it really crippled the design process VS doing renders for baging a big prmary sponsor. Those were all single themes , just the sponsor they were pitching the deal to. I'll look and see if I have any photos of the renderings I' did for them and come back and post some.
Nothing is weirder than Quantum Upgrade to me. To think about how much work Swanny and the team puts in, and for Minear to portray that his success comes from some bullshit “frequencies” is quite disappointing to me. I hope the company vanishes once they realize we don’t buy into it.
The dog food company that was sponsoring teams for a while was pretty weird.
I had never heard of Jimmy John's until I saw it on Roczen's bike. Shortly after that, a couple Jimmy John's opened near me. Sadly the closest one closed down a couple years ago.
And I thought "Freaky Fast" was just something Roczen put on there to describe himself. Didn't realize it was the JJ's slogan.
crazy as it is, we had a "National Guard Kawasaki" team over in Michigan for a couple years haha
Didn't John Dowd have a deal with the Celtics on his KTM? I swear he even took his Poster pics at the Garden?
I don't know anything about the company, but why do you think energy frequencies don't exist?
I’m surprised no one’s put a picture up of Ernesto Fonseca when he was sponsored by Kodak. I’m sure someone who is tech savvy will know how to upload a picture.
