There's an embedded video in my post.  If you can't see it, a 14 yr old kid on a Surron hit and killed an 81 yr old decorated Vietnam war veteran pilot.   The kid's mom has been charged with a list of crimes for letting her kid ride the illegal e-bike on public streets, including involuntary manslaughter.

Oh no!

Rear sprocket is identical.

Fuel tank looks the same.

Frame and Swingarm look similar.

All you guys that hate on it need to remember the Japanese went through the same industrial revolution in the later 60s and early 70s. Nobody was riding Japanese bikes at one point and now look at them. The Chinese are in the midst of that. As someone who has plenty of stuff manufactured (non-moto), I have a few good vendors in China and the quality is just as good if not better than some of the vendors I have stateside.

Not sure what you’re looking at. If anything it looks like a Honda with a Yamaha front fender.

Swingarm, frame, look nothing a like.

If its anything like the ADV bikes coming out of China, then don't believe any of the numbers. They like to lie.

I remember the early 70s bikes from Japan.  Hell, I owned a couple as a kid.  I never saw any of them come from the factory with wheel bearings that had an 1/8 to 1/4 inch of wobble in them.  And compared to the competition then, mainly from Europe, they were light years ahead in terms of metallurgy, fit and finish, engineering/design, durability, etc.

I wouldn’t buy one , but maybe it will drive the price down on the established brands.

I sell a line of Chinese pit/kids bikes from a distrubutor in TX. They have been pretty solid little bikes but they brought a 250 by a few weeks ago that had an EFI Zongshen engine with a KTM copy frame prior to 23. KYB suspension, Excel wheels and Brembo copy brakes. $5999 is the retail. The fit and finish was very good. I'd send out a link but for some odd reason they do not have that bike on their website. Seems like they sent me an e-mail with pics and I will try to find them. Claims 235 weight and 38 HP. I have no idea about them other that what I saw and the claims on their e-mail.

The Chinese motor company (DJI, Avinox) basically took over the E mtb world this year, almost every mtb brand has been forced to use DJI motors because they are leading the industry. It’s not a good thing.

Weren't most of the E mtb motors Taiwanese anyway?  When you say "leading the industry", do you mean superior in performance?

I'm only talking about E mountain bikes not E motorcycles like surron. Just for an example of how far the Chinese are getting with their manufacturing of similar stuff.

Bosch is the biggest competitor to DJI in the MTB scene obviously they are German.
Yes the new DJI (Chinese)motors are the best as far as power output, battery life, charge time, weight and usability. Even the app they use is better. Thats why most all the high end Mtb companies just released bikes with the DJI m2 motor. But only for that person who thinks riding a E Mtb is about power output. Two German companies TQ and Fazua have light weight systems that are my favorite. But I have no doubt that DJI could beat them in that category also if they were interested in it.
Chinese e bike stuff that you still have to pedal. I use a gas powered bike for when I want to use a throttle.

Sir,

It’s Bosch. Just look at those boxes of very expensive parts for your Porsche’s…

Bosch.

To be fair, all of the motorcycle companies have cringworthy about us statements.  Guess which OEM has this one?

When it comes to engineering innovation, BRAND is in a league of its own. BRAND Ltd. conducted the first* public demonstration of a hydrogen ICE motorcycle from a mass-production motorcycle manufacturer. This motorcycle features a hydrogen engine based on the 998cc in-line four supercharged engine found in the BRAND motorcycle, but with special modifications enabling direct injection of hydrogen fuel into the cylinders. The chassis was also designed to integrate hydrogen fuel canisters and an onboard hydrogen fuel supply system. Hydrogen ICE motorcycles operate on hydrogen combustion, delivering the rumble and pulsating sensation that riders love when twisting the throttle, while emitting mainly water and a very small amount of CO2.

How about this one?

For over 50 years, BRAND group has endeavored to create diverse value through products and services since its founding.

We have worked based on three ideas which constitute our “Corporate Philosophy”. One is our “Corporate Mission”, that is our core identity, values, purpose and visionary goals. The second is “Management Principles” - the guiding management principles for achieving our corporate mission. The third is “Action Guidelines”, the guidelines each individual should follow to realize our corporate mission.

Being the “Kando* creating company” is our goal to “offer new excitement and a more fulfilling life for people all over the world”. We strive to use our ingenuity and passion to realize peoples' dreams and always be the ones they look up to for “the next Kando*.”

I don't trust Chinese metallurgy.

Cheap pot metal steels and alloys, sketchy and inconsistent hardening processes, everything good until first stages of metal fatigue set in, then catastrophic failure.

They'll get better because they will have to, but they don't have to yet.

Do you realize there are 1.4 billion people in China?

Some Chinese companies produce good products, some companies produce bad products, if you deal with good companies you get good produces, just like every other country in the world.

The quality of the best steel makers in China is approaching Japanese steel makers, Nippon and JFE, who are the best in the world.
