Probably unpopular opinion but for actually attending I prefer the day race. Safer leaving the stadiums and time to actually go get something to eat after.
Safer? People living their life in fear of being outside but say they “ride”.
I agree, especially with small children.
Pound sand never said I lived in fear but downtown stadiums in sketchy areas isn't exactly preferred.

I am happy for SX to be on a larger network, but mid-day races should never happen again.
Have any of you ever ended up a fan of a sport that you stumbled upon because it happened to be on? I have not. I do not believe this is a thing that happens. I'm not sure it happened 40 years ago when you had 3 networks to choose from, but I can't imagine it happens now when networks are dying and everything is on demand streaming. NBC needed to fill some air time, thats all this is about.
Ask mom if she can give you a better comeback than that.

I would argue those events prove my point. People watched because they turned those events into spectacles and promoted the hell out of them, but as much as people think curling is cool when it's fed to them, they don't start following the sport and watching other events. Millions of viewers and social media posts and very few people retained as fans once that one event is over.
