KTM Officially Has A New Owner Now
It's been in the works for months now, but the I's are dotted, the T's are crossed, and two former subsidiaries now have completely new names.

It’s pretty culturally insensitive and a bad omen to name your company “Ba-hah-hah”
Only Eli can save them.
AT LAST Bajaj is selling Felt bicycles!
PMG acquired Felt in November 2021, I don't think they ever turned a benefit, a couple of years later in December 2023 PMG was already talking about getting rid of it... yet nothing happened for 2 more years until today (they're selling it to the same dude they were supposed to sell it 2 years ago).

Restructuring goes on, KTM just poached some big guy from BMW.
Stephan Reiff was Vice President Customer, Brand & Sales at BMW Motorrad, overseeing worldwide sales, marketing, and aftersales. He will become Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and serve in KTM Executive Board starting in April.

Bajaj Mobility Group 2025 annual report has been released

A few notable bits
KTM, Husqvarna, Gasgas: 46 k off-road sales (22% of sales, 31% of revenue) 68 k street sales (32% of sales, 37% of revenue)
Average revenue by off-road bike sale: 6874 €
Average revenue by street motorcycle sale: 5447 €
Besides that, there have been 79 k Bajaj sales (37% of sales)
Sales by region: 36% sales in Europe (47% of revenue), 29% Bajaj direct sales (Asia 7% of revenue), 22% North America (33% of revenue)
That’s a tough read. Not unexpected though as that was all the turmoil. How ‘26 goes will be more indicative of the long term prospects. Certainly can’t do ‘25 again.
-43.3% down sales from 2024 -> 2025. They really struggling bad and doesnt look good in future.
I'll never own another KTM and there are a lot of people in the same boat.
If a company fucks over suppliers, employees, distributors, their hometown, and dealers, they certainly won't have an issue fucking over customers.
What is the primary reason why?
Quality?
Performance?
Parts availability?
Parts cost?
Other reasons?
Inquiring minds want to know...
KTM has to last or sport gonna suffer. Not enough small bike manufacturers. If KTM goes out the prices skyrocket and parts become impossible. It will not be good.
50: Cobra and KTM
65: Cobra, KTM, Yamaha
85: KTM, Kawi, Yamaha
People tend to shy away from companies that carry a greater risk of not being around tomorrow. While the bikes themselves are great, the prospect of spending six months hunting for an angel investor to take on the BK debt and restart manufacturing seriously shakes buyer confidence. On top of that, a large portion of the components in their product line come from China or Malaysia. This is known.
You walk into a showroom filled with options from every major brand. Are you really going to choose a KTM over everything else?
Last week I talked to a guy with a new KTM, he told me he went with KTM because the orange looked cool.
I'm one of those people.
What is the primary reason why? See below.
Quality? I feel quality peaked around 2010-2012. Once production numbers increased with the brands popularity, the rush to production was apparent. My last KTM (2018 model) lasted all of 9 hours before it let go. I had to wait almost a year for all the parts to arrive.
Performance? No argument there, they work well.
Parts availability? I've had issues, and have known others as well, waiting months for parts.
Parts cost? Seem to be on par with other manufacturers.
Other reasons? As someone else has mentioned, I don't want to support a company that has screwed over so many people (employees, suppliers, dealers etc). That being said, my mind was made up way before they started to sink. I'll stick with Japanese brands.
I'll never buy another KTM because of their unethical business practices. I owned a business myself that could have grown vastly as well if I took on debt and lowered quality, I didn't - KTM did. So many shit on bikes manufactured in China because of communism yet look at what KTM did to employees, small suppliers and dealers, even the town they make the bikes and in the end it will all be in India anyway.

I am sure it is a one time deal due to selling through old inventory but $680m profit on $1.13B in sales is pretty impressive. 2026 numbers will tell more of the tale. They still seem to be selling through old inventory (no 2026 Husky FC bikes) so 2027 might be the first relatively stable numbers after the restructure.
