What red blooded man gives a f**k if the fastest rider of this generation (and maybe all time) is being arrogan or not? Thats the kind of stuff woman discuss

If you look up the definition of these words, Jett is 100% confidence, and he has proven why.

Neither rider is arrogant, although Deegan isn't as mature nor does he have the same family influence as Lawrence and those immature flare ups may come over as arrogance.

They are both ultra talented riders, looking forward to watching them match up.

If you look up the definition of the word arrogance, there may be arrogant posters in this thread - however in most cases it's a history of disagreeing or difference of opinion that has created animosity between members, none of us knows the others well enough to call each other arrogant.

Confidence when you've done it.  Arrogance when you think you can but haven't yet.

There is one difference between JL and HD that are very important in the context of this discussion.

JL came from nothing and his brother was effectively feeding the family as a teenager. Both of them had no other options but to succeed and overcome the odds.

HD is a silver spoon fed narcissist that has been given every opportunity imaginable to succeed. Credit to him for not blowing the opportunity. But it comes off as ignorant when he’s always talking like the odds were stacked against him.

Deegs has had to work every bit as hard as Jett on the track for his accomplishments. Money doesn’t buy you championships, hard work and discipline do. Deegs could have come from nothing and he’d still be where he is now due to his work ethic and passion.

You guys don’t know the difference between a nepo baby and a legacy. Deegs is a legacy, not a nepo baby. Nepo babies are handed opportunities by virtue of their family status. Deegs was handed nothing, he put in the work, lined up just like the rest of them, and earned it the same way everyone else has to. If anything, the odds were just as stacked against him because he didn’t need to win to put food on the table. He does the work and puts his life on the line just for the sheer passion and love of it which is very rare. Show some respect.

Oh yeah. I must have forgotten how he was working to pay for the professional trainers, top tier equipment, track time, and all the other things that every other old amateur racer needs to get better when he was 10….

He has had access to resources that 99.9% of people in this sport would never gain access to. The issue isn’t that he has had access to them. The issue is that he has had access to them, has been groomed for birth to be a professional, but still talks like he had no chances.

I respect the racer. He’s phenomenal. No dispute with that. However, I don’t respect the person and I’ll stand on that. If you think I’m wrong, then that’s your problem. Not mine.

By your criteria, Eli and Webb are also “silver spoon fed” because they had rich parents and unlimited access to resources since birth. So I suppose their achievements don’t count for as much either. Great take.

Did I miss something?  Jett IS one of the greats.

There have been great guys before him and there will be great guys after him, but watching Jett ride a bike is like watching Roger Federer play tennis.  It's beautiful.

Well, it's true. RC had to beat the defending champion for his first championships. Jett didn't. Not Jett's fault, of course. He could only beat the guys that showed up. But still, there it is.

All the HD talk about haters, doubters, being written off, is amplified by HD constantly talking about it.

Every time I hear him whine about “the haters” I feel sorry that a guy with so much talent and achievements is so fundamentally insecure. It’s sad he can’t just enjoy his life, because he’s got a great one.

The greatest boxer of all time was deemed cocky, arrogant and brash back in the sixties probably before most of you guys were born. Mohammed Ali would trash talk his opponent leading up to his fights. He once called one of them an Uncle Tom, which is an ultimate insult to a black man back in the day.

One of his famous quotes, which I totally believe in:

"If you can walk the walk, you can talk the talk."

I have no problem with what Jett or Hayden have to say as they both dominate their respective competition. The mental game is very important in all different forms of sport.

He actually touched on his lack of being able to convey things properly at times. He knows he's come off disrespectful with some stuff and feels like an idiot when that happens.

The internet is funny everyone comments on something , that was made up. Ali was the biggest athlete in sports , because of his big mouth.  But that used to be normal in sports.  People Loved. Emig because he was cocky as hell.  It’s just entertainment there supposed to talk themselves up . Nothing wrong speaking the truth . If you’re beating the competition & winning. If a guy says , I was easily faster & expected to win & I did. And I,m looking forward to next week , to do it again. That sells tickets & tshirts, etc.  Instead of boring Quarter back corporate talk.  Not sure what happened to society.  Where supposed to respect each other , & nobody does that anymore.  Competing for millions of dollars , you’re an entertainer. Entertain us & stop being So Boring.

You beat me to post about ALi. That’s Extremely disrespectful to stand ovr a fighter. But made him huge I see the poster a few times of the yr.  Equivalent to standing on 2nd places bike after you threw him off in mx.

Once again Webb did not have rich parents. No hate comms, but he grew up in a double wide and rode to the track in a Ford Explorer and a 5x8.

Here is a comparison of the two.lol.

Deegan is like Rene Cartier, fast and great at riding a bike, he just has a bad selfish attitude that makes people dislike him.

Jett is like Dean Talon, fast and great at riding a bike, but he has a great fun loving attitude that makes people like him even more.

Do you know who Webb’s dad is? Know many moto dads that can sell their land in Nicaragua when their son gets serious about racing?

Yes, I live 10 minutes from the shithole called Newport NC.

I don't know what you're point is, if they had money they wouldn't have had to sell land.

Coops mom is a school teacher and his Dad shaped surf boards at his small surf shop. The shop was sold a few years ago.

You know what my point is. My point is that things may not have been as destitute for the Webb’s as you described. However, if they were, I will stand corrected no problem. But, that’s completely beside my original point—that a dirtbiker’s wealth is far less impactful than their work ethic.

Jett is a historically elite talent.

Deegan will be lucky to have Barcia's 450 career.

It's always exciting when a successful 250 rider moves up, but this isn't going to be what a lot of people hope it will be
