Listening to Brandon from clubmx on GypsyTales talk about losing both title sponsors due to Tariffs changing their budget really got my wondering how much it’s effecting our sport.
I’m not asking peoples opinions on the decision or who you voted for etc, I’m just curious to what extent this is impacting race teams and dealerships. Brandon seemed to think factory teams were feeling it as well.
Anyone else feel this? It’s funny because Brent Duffe was on Gypsy Tales and mentioned being told by the higher ups at his team that if he DIDNT vote a particular way the sport would suffer…wondering if people are acknowledging this or keeping it all private

The part about Duffe is absolutely fucked if true. That is insane.
It’s true. I’ll try to find the transcript I think Apple does an auto transcribe
Found it. wonder if the team is effected by this stuff the way other teams have been
Dude also said a war could really effect our sport
Tarriffs are taxes (per the Supreme Court). That leaves less money for everything else. I read an interesting economics study that just came out; they estimated 96% of costs were passed onto consumers. Whether that is "worth it" is up to you do decide
I’m about done with every country in the world, taking advantage of America, and living off of Americans generosity!!! What they do to us, we do to them!!!! Just trying to be fair!!!

For us the biggest hit has been aluminum, as prices are through the roof (yes, we buy USA made aluminum). We just paid the highest we've ever paid on our last order. Pricing was already driven super high by the tariffs, and now the war in Iran is pushing it to new record highs.

Something has to give somewhere. If we keep our pricing the same, then something else has to get clipped. The brands Brandon mentioned dropping their sponsorship did exactly that. They were mostly producing product overseas and saw huge impacts from the tariffs, so they cut their sponsorship expenses to offset the difference. The only winner in all this is the US government that's collecting the taxes...
the biggest problem that USA has .......is being full of unthinkable humans like this one here......even with all the proofs, results and facts in front of them, they dont want to see it, in fact the blindest of all is the one who does not want to see......thats why you have tarrifs, thats why you have wars......thats why the american dream is long gone and things will never be the same as they were......
The tariffs impacted Muc Off from what I understand. However, I also heard they are building a facility in the US to eliminate the tariffs on their products, which is exactly what you want tariffs to do. Then, the products are available without tariffs and with more jobs here. Tariffs are a long term play. Though I agree they are a pain in the short term. I'm no expert and have no idea how it will ultimately play out.
I work for a company that sells imported as well as American made goods. The American made goods are still much more expensive to produce because the cost of labor in the United States is so much more expensive than the tariffs being paid on the imported goods. As a result, they are still more expensive to the consumer.
Liberals like you are what’s wrong with America!!!🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Not to hate on Muc-Off but a lot of their products are just rebranded Chinese products, pressure washers, brushes, the cleaners seem to be good but also very high margins.
I think what hurt them on top of tariffs is that their main market being mountain bikers who will spend much more on the same items was way down the last couple years compared to covid times.
Dude's profile pretty clearly says Azores.
Not trying to hate as I appreciate what they’ve done as far as pumping $ into the sport, but I have to agree. When I worked at the bike shop a few years ago, I decided to give their bike wash a try and was severely disappointed when it was hardly doing a thing. It cost nearly double what the same size bottle of Biowash would run and that stuff worked awesome.
Can’t everyone just use the tariff rebates to fund their racing??
I work for a company that manufactures transportation products all around the world, as well as here. We’ve drastically cut back on both production and spending (marketing that includes racing) this year in anticipation of what is coming. This means that our suppliers around the world will be selling less to us and generating less income for themselves as well.
They are building a distribution facility, not a manufacturing facility.
Why isn't this in non-moto?
Dumgeon?
Not for the OP…but for the shit show it’s become.
BTW, we’ve been hit by tariffs.
We went LONG…very…LONG on Pre-Tariff materials and we’ve become smarter and more efficient out of the necessity of the new world of materials supply demands.
But, I digress
