For me.
Instead of looking forward to the weekends round, I’m wondering if I can get a refund on my SX Video pass.
Knowing the rules are applied randomly, takes away the anticipation: like already hearing the result before watching. Or watching practice.
The AMA’s attempts at justification are infuriating: “Nothing has changed regarding red lights/Red Cross flags”, which means - “We will continue to make $hit up in a seemingly random way” So maybe jump with a red light - you might gain a position, or you might be penalised” - Who knows?
Probably many don’t feel the same way, but I’m surprised at how much this latest fiasco has affected my enjoyment as a long term fan. (Who has actually raced Supercross - Sydney Showground 1981 !!)
Thank you for this
Meanwhile we have some of the best racing ever this year
Funny you mention this, I was talking with an old riding friend from the 80s earlier today and he actually said the same thing and that he would only watch the highlights and not waste his time watching the whole thing due to the BS last week.
I feel the same way. This ridiculous non-application of the rule book is infuriating and really has taken the joy/anticipation of watching from me. To take the position they have and continue to defend it is simply mind boggling. 🤦🏼♂️

That’ll show em.
FIM and their crony minion orgs are no different.
I pulled myself and my budding race team out of the Thailand championship this year due to the capricious nature of rule application, among other things.
I'll spare you my experiences/story but I will point out that there is a reigning FIM MX1 national champion who isn't old enough to be in the class.
You could appreciate the four best racers nose to tail for 20 minutes + one lap. Or whine and complain about the officiating. At this point just sit in your lawn chairs in front of you house and yell at the kids to "Get off my lawn".
And/or*
Come on guys, this same shit has been going on since the 70s and it wont ever change.
I bet your friend will be watching the full broadcast this weekend
Legit question. Is there no validity to this? I'm curious at what point things go from valid to just whining and complaining? Seems like, for whatever reason, anytime someone posts a valid criticism there are people who show up to defend. Can people not just have valid complaints, we acknowledge and discuss like adults?
I feel like if you aren’t a hardcore enough fan to watch the racing, posting on a forum should come way before that.. so no need to announce your departure 😊
“Ruined” may be taking it too far, and this season is shaping up to be an all timer; some of the racing has been brilliant, but this latest AMA fiasco certainly is disappointing.
If either title comes down to a few points between individuals involved last weekend, it’ll be a travesty. Let’s just hope incompetence doesn’t end up having any impact and we can all enjoy the racing as it is.
Great points.
). So pumped to see Jo back at all - let alone winning his first main back! 🤮
My motivation for starting the thread was my surprise at just how adversely the situation has affected my enjoyment and frankly interest.
This season has had simply fantastic racing, and being an Aussie from Hunters home town, I’ve been stoked with his performance. As an ET fan, I’ve had plenty to cheer about. I’ve been waiting since the start of the season to see Cole Davis ride (another from down under - even if he’s only a Kiwi
To come from this high, to where I am now, is a massive shift. I fully understand that many feel differently, and can’t understand where I’m coming from. Frankly, I’d rather be in that group.
Not sure I’ll even watch the racing this weekend.
Not a protest,“statement”, or thinking it will “show them”, just an indication of how badly this has affected MY interest.
Upon further reflection:
My dream scenario in the 450s would have been Eli and Hunter tied on points going into the last Round, and being 1st and 2nd after the first turn (either order) - with the best man winning. Now this scenario is completely bogus.
If Hunter or Jo lose the title by 1 or 2 points they have been ripped off.
This is why the RACING has been Ruined for ME.
You get used to it.
Hang in there, dude. It's a fuck up that happens time to time in any sport or life, for that matter.
Skip a few, get your mojo back and get back into it. It's an awesome season, you really will be missing out, especially if your boy Hunter pulls it off.
Then use the frustration to fuel more yelling (involvement) at the riders, the commentators, AND the AMA. I do, it's great fun
I'm fingers crossed for fellow Kiwi, Cole
^
Great advice. Thanks.
I do believe the strong reaction I’m experiencing is potentially affected by other factors.
Pit Row
It definitely has me wondering about how fair & objectively the rule book applies when you have a team sponsored by the series sponsor is declared a winner over a competing energy brand. I appreciate the money these products invest to support the sport, but it's hard to be a fan at times.
I also wonder how much the new betting component factors in. Changing a finishing order after the fact will affect the payouts and parlays.
Legal online betting on moto is bullshit imo...
Exactly!!!
Ol Skypig is having a bad day.
Let Broc Bye ! Blatant rigged race out come, cost Danny Laporte the 125 national championship.
Maybe so, not sure what your point is?
Incompetence vs manufactured outcome is always the question. With the AMA I suspect incompetence. With NFL I'm not so sure. NBA seems to have their own share of issues in this regard.
My dream scenario, we'd still be racing 125cc and 250cc two-strokes.
( Although, It's actually MX Sports that keeps the ridiculously outdated Double-displacement Rule in Professional Racing )
First of all it’s “Rooned” and it’s all Weege’s fault…you should know this…
Perhaps the ama will turn on whatever warning light they are using this week so the door does not hit you on the ass,,,,,,,
