They just showed in the 250sx highlights that the light was on when Brown and Bennick jumped

Red light was definitely blinking when Brown jumped.

Yeah, that’s some bullshit. Announcers said it’s a points penalty and not a position penalty

He lost position for doing the right thing, they should loose position for doing the wrong thing.

I’m picturing the crew carrying them out in their chairs to preserve those pristine shoes.

I think the penalty is minus 2 positions worth of points and an additional 2 points? They changed it from a position penalty after some drama some years back involving I think Dungey.

I think the position penalty makes much more sense, points penalty is ridiculous as there are specific scenarios where it would be advantageous to eat the penalty and jump anyway.

So, Jo has the red plate but finishes second. Brown keeps first place but loses 5 pts. It sucks but I understand why they don’t change positions. We need to know who won the race.

So technically, Brown would still “win” the races but not have the points that go with it.

Where this is really effed up is Supercross is now allowing betting. So if I had money on Shimoda and he technically finished second, I’m out money. For that reason alone, they need to reinstate the position penalty. I mean… they’re always advertising NXT bets on the broadcast and pull this shit?

Enjoy this clean respectful incredible racing while it lasts, this is the peak of the 450 class. Once deegs moves up hes gonna bring his bullshit drama all over the place and all this gentlemans racing is gonna be over. Savor this season its probably the end of an era.

I think Tomac has been by far the best guy this season, but has had some bad luck and that's why the points are as close as they are.

However, Hunter has been improving every race and in my opinion has been the fastest guy the last 2 races.

If the pattern continues, barring injury/illness and mechanicals or other dnfs, I'm fully expecting this championship to be between Hunter and Eli. They're a class above the rest at the moment

Agree. It’s going to go down to the wire between 96 and 3.

Yeah, Hunter took it up to another level, but I'm not counting Kenny or Cooper out. Kenny starts so well and Cooper is such a dog it's unlikely he'll be dropped. Sexton, yeah, not this year.

I absolutely hate gambling and the expansion of it into more and more things, but my biggest gripe with it in SMX is there is no rule that athletes need to disclose injuries like there is in other sports that allow gambling.

So basically, the industry insiders have a huge advantage where money can be made. I don't know if there’s a law against such what you could call "insider gambling" like there is insider trading but there should be in my opinion.

On a whole I think the sport is way too unprofessional for its size. I feel like even our Australian series is better run and organised with rule enforcement (not talking about gambling specifically here just to be clear) and it would be lucky to have maybe one twentieth the viewership that SMX does.

If you ask me there’s just way too much nepotism in the sport that puts some real buffoons in positions of power that they have no business being in.

All fair points and couldn’t agree more with the injury aspect. Also why the Prado situation caught so much shit last weekend. I don’t bet. Guys will hop on here and say betting is for idiots and it’s their own fault. Sure, that’s true. But to your point, the sport is now in this world like it or not. There needs to be more transparency about it rather than catching a main gate drop to cash a check and just hitting the tunnel after the first turn.

After seeing the affects of gambling and integrity, I think there’s a reason it’s been illegal. I think our sport is immune for the most part but still better without it.

Just heard that too, they've published the 450 results so I have to assume they're gonna stand but that's total bullshit if guys jumped on it and don't get penalised while Hunter didn't jump it.

Yea I was initially for legalizing sports betting in my state, but now after seeing what its done I wish we could get it back on the ballot and yank that shit. Its an absolute cancer to society. They were 100% right banning that shit and making you have to fly all the way to vegas to do it.

Now that the moneys here theres no taking it away, nobody ever gives up free revenue streams. There were a couple ppl mad about legalized pot but its has 1/1,000,000,000th the effect on society as this shit has. Fuck I 100% believe legalized hard drugs or at least prescription for addicts would have a VASTLY worse impact than this shit has. It would actually most likely have a positive impact getting dealers and their networks off the streets and sick people on prescriptions and health care. Legalized betting suuuuuuuuuuucks, there is literally no upside other than a couple rich ass ppl getting even richer and then buying our politics and fucking us even more and infecting everything. Get this shit tf out of here.

Here is a personal take I want to share after Arlington :

I'm not talking about speed, but technique and manipulation of the bike. Cole Davies is the most gifted 250 sx rider I ever saw, without any hesitation.

Imagine the other riders trying to survive those whoops and he just blows past them wide open on the throttle stop. If he gets a start, he will be hard to stop.
