"Makes collision" is for me the ultimate RCism. Said it twice during the 250 heats. Race Day Live is so polished now with AC and JB, either one of those guys could do a way better job than Ricky. The GOAT deserves every accolade he's received, except for being placed in a high-level announcing position.
Thanks for letting everyone know
Ricky is doing a lot better this season, he doesn’t bother me at all anymore. I can tell he’s worked on it this offseason and I can respect and appreciate that.
Do you just not like the guy? He has more knowledge in one hand than AC has in his whole body😂😂
"some apexes are tighter than others"
Poor guy doesn't know the difference between an apex and a radius. No "astuteness"

Here's 2 from tonight....."Levi needs to bridge that gap" Levi was in first ahead of Deegan....Idiot. 2nd place bridges the "gap" between 2nd and 1st.
He is "On that zone".....dumbass....It is "IN THAT ZONE"..... Oh.....there's more. I don't hate the guy...but come on. Makes it akward to listen to him struggle with language, grammar and even pronouncing Difrancesco correctly. 😒😒😒
He was gonna say kitchen was on another level but he remembered he said deegan was on another planet just earlier and felt stupid and tried to salvage.
Can't tell if sarcasm, but AC has about 30 IQ points on rc. Feel for the motorcycle and knowledge are two different things.
"poorly mistimed"
Poorly timed?? This guy is supposedly the voice of our sport. So embarrassing.
That's debatable.. but even if it was the case he does not vocalize it well imo. AC (and basically every other ex rider commentator) does a better job using whatever experience they have to communicate any action on the track to the audience in a coherent and interesting way.
Literally 3 turns into the race “lotta racin left”
Good to know GOAT, cheers
Here are a few from tonight. For those saying he is getting better.......yeah, no.
"They are going to take all sorts alternative lines compared to the last two weeks. 🤷🏻♂️"
He completely missed Kitchen getting the three on the table and the other rhythm in the heat. JT got it though. He is the analyst and said nothing of value basically all night.
He said Yoder was able to not "make collision" with another rider and then said it a second time! Makes collision???
He said he saw a pass coming a mile away after it happened.
Those was all in the heats. I had to stop listening as closely in the mains, but one thing stood out. Weege asked him why it was so hard to get the three on the table and his response was unreal. He didn't mention corner speed coming into it, seatbouncing, rut choice, commitment or anything real. He mumbled something about what side they were hitting the jump on and made no sense.
Kitchen mentions he couldn't hear his bike because the crowd was so loud. Weege asks Ricky if there was ever a time he couldn't hear his bike because the crowd was so loud. Ricky, "ONE HUNDRED PERCENT." lmfao.
RC- I know what happened to Craig he went down. While watching the 2nd replay of the start
Ricky don't lose that number...
It's insane that apart from Weege and JT for the main night show we get the B team.
AC is head and shoulders above every other analyst/commentator. Only JT is anywhere near him.
Man, it was so bad tonight.
Yeah, he was a badass on a dirtbike & had a HoF career, but his race commentary is just embarrassing and cringe worthy at times...
kinda chuckled when the "astuteness" came out last nite....i said to myself "oh boy this one will be posted in "things ricky says"
Pit Row
I just hope Mike Craig is ok
He's better without Diffey in the booth too.
Although I'm not sure why he randomly said 'The Cowboy' early in the 450 main when Weege was talking about someone else.
Malin just took his shirt off.
Good point. Malin is top draw also.
Not sure if you all knew this but Ken is so explosive in the opening laps.
No chance, do you learn anything from him? Maybe you’ve just acclimated to the sub-par analysis. He rarely comments on anything unique or of substance with what’s happening in the actual race. He’s always “going back to” something (perhaps qualifying practice or last season?), and has to agree with JT 100%.
I spend more time going “huh” with everything he says. It’s tough to listen to.
I’d have to think AC will be in the role at some point.
You guys are harsh. I'm a lawyer and you'd think Ricky would bother me but he doesn't. It's the charm of the GOAT. His malaphors and eggcorns make me laugh. I just love the guy and I would say most people who enjoy and watch the sport relate to him and enjoy listening to his insights... otherwise he wouldn't be in the booth. That is a fact.
Here are a few others that I like listening to: Kevin Windham, James Stewart, Jeff Emig, and David Bailey.
When Eli finally retires, he'd be really good in the booth providing commentary.
I wouldn't go that far, he's good but needs a couple more years to refine. Stew is decent, better outdoors I think. I'd take Weege, AC, and Stew or Emig.
Honestly, I'm pretty disgusted with this whole production that getting the right people in the booth is only the start. It feels very superficial and dumbed down. It's like almost all of the show is fluff.
You can have the best racing in the world but if you don't have the right people to enhance and communicate that excitement to the audience, it's meh. Split screen, camera prioritization, Will " I talked to.. " Christensen blabbing every 3 minutes about crap that happened 5 days ago, interviews during the race, ect ect all needs improvement. Ok done ranting.
Calm down AC is ok. He's got a long way to go. JB is better.
AC tries to be abit too deep and philosophical in my worthless opinion.
The fact RC keeps the job is mind blowing to me. Did he walk in when some NBC executive had their assistants feet in the air? Maybe he doesn’t care but I feel like what he’s saying in the booth is taking away from what he was able to accomplish in racing. We don’t talk about his rides anymore, we talk about his ability to not talk. So many qualified people that would create a much better product but nope, we get the poster child for why grade school matters!
He sounded like a Russian, German, or Kazakh guy speaking his second language with the "makes collision". Not once but twice. I did the commentating for the rest of the race in a Borat accent for my wife.
Exactly. These “shit on RC” threads have to be mostly be generational.
Hard enough seeing your heroes get “old”.
I couldn’t tell you anything that is said because I am living vicariously through the guys on the bikes for three hours (~6-7 hours) every Saturday.
