They have new parts this year. It wasn’t made up if that’s what you’re alluding to.
They have pretty much established at this point, that Chase was asking the WP suspension technicians for a setting that was outside the window of what would allow the shock to remain reliable throughout the course of an entire moto. The cooling ducts..etc are all indicators of this being true. The Europeans also never having a related issue just reinforces it further.
I know they do have brand new stuff for this season, so its possible that all of that drama last year helped them improve durability for this year.
Wait till outdoors. Wasn't a problem in Supercross as I recall.
I don't know man....

He began using the carbon cooling cowl in SX.
At that point we hadn’t heard him complain about the shock, but the addition of the cooling cowl tells us everything we need to know.
This years factory shock is a completely new design.
I dont know about that. That Endo 2 races in a row from KTM with one from AP7 and the next from Eli looked to have come from both riders out of no-where. I probably wouldnt have thought much from the AP7 one if not for having seeing Eli flying then suddenly crash like that.
Eli said he stomped on his brake in the post race interview
It’s all new WP stuff for Eli and Jorge I believe. In the last round or so it was mentioned that others like Malcolm started getting the new stuff.
It’s been crickets on any “media” coverage on what they are using. Not exactly sure why nobody will really discuss. Presumably they (WP/KTM) are asking them to not cover?
Damage control, Eli is a team player
They were running the cooling fan on the shock in SX.
As has been said, they are on a complete different shock this year -- possibly a lot closer to the GP-spec shock Chase was asking for.
It’s a new shock as everybody mentioned above
George is just that good.
No one is going to throw their employer under the bus. Top guys are HARD on equipment.
Was clearly not a shock issue, he picked it up and then passed 5 or more riders after the crash then came out and won the third moto. People are making a mountain out of a molehill about this
Oddly ( possibly the first time?) He came out and won the third race On his backup bike.
Seems I should have been more thorough in my post... Shock fade is a problem for everyone; some more than others. Clearly it was a problem for KTM in supercross to an extent, but it really showed up for outdoors as evident by the riders refusing to ride the bike.
Outdoors is the real test with higher ambient temperatures and more consistent and higher heat input to the shock vs. supercross. My point was that we shouldn't assume it's "fixed" till we get to the outdoors and see how it does there.
and chase is still trying to find that perfect set up on his Kawi shock too.
Pit Row
I already covered it in a news feature.
🤔
I must have missed it.
still a twin tube with poppet valves
And only a ten min moto....
Post a reply to: No "shock problems" for Eli or Prado.
