They beat him it what 1 race?

That was not the question asked.

Shimoda, Davies, Ryder D, Beaumer, Smith, Hammaker, Vialle, Marchbanks, all finished ahead of him at some point last year.

Beaumer, Smith, Hammaker, Davies, and Shimoda won races.

Shimoda's season was derailed by a pit board. No telling what the season would've looked like without that incident.

Davies beat him twice. Pretty good for someone that was originally set to race SMX Next.

Cole is a beast tho…. Imagine how good he’s going to be this year, been a minute since anyone has done what he did his rookie season. The bro could very well be the 2nd coming of Jett, maybe better.

It was the ride of the century Gordon.  1-1-1. Has any rider went 1-1-1 in a Triple Crown in such dominating fashion? Has any rider even went 1-1-1 in a Triple Crown? I'd put that ride right up with Magoo's MX and Tropee des Nations rides, RC lapping the entire field, Herlings in the sand at Lommel in 2012, and Chase Sexton going from 40th to first.

And did anyone see Haiden helping up Yoder?  Stopped his timed practice to help a rider in distress. Yet the team PC riders can't even humble themselves to give DNGR DEEGz a fist bump.

Barcia, yes. Savatgy has I think 5 250 class wins. Nelson never raced a 450.

Pourcel and  Wilson, yes.

I'm not talking about the hype of being the guy, I'm asking about actual results. I do think Deegan's career could go either way. He could adapt, and be solid, or he could go the Barcia route. He was riding the 450 like his 250 in WSX, and that won't work.

IMG 0531 5.jpeg?VersionId=mir.fIUnqT5iAbsolutely wrong.

J Mart raced 450 Supercross in 2017 and got 2nd at Daytona.  People forget this one. And they forget how good Jmart was before the injuries started to creep up.

Pretty god damn solid result for his first 450 race!

Jett Lawrence is going to make it a very long next decade for Deegan and his deepthroaters...

Jett has already missed half his 450 career due to injuries, so do you mean half a decade?

You say that as if he wouldn't be making a fortune in the 450 class... He'd be making BIG money in any class he chooses to ride. He's conquered the 250 class already, conquering it again isn't proving a lot. Move up.

Yet even racing part time he has won 2x 450 championships every year of his 450 career.

2023 - 450 MX and SMX

2024 - 450 SX and SMX (missed MX through injury)

2025 - 450 MX and SMX (missed SX through injury)

6 out of 9 possible championships when you include the Supercross season he is currently missing. While he is injured a lot. He still has won more than everyone else combined since his 450 debut.

That could end this year though as he is no certainty to be fit for the MX season. Sexton, Tomac, Prado on KTM, hunter and Deegan on a 450 wont make it easy. But if he is fit you would havr to say he is the favourite.

Not a fan of people already calling Jett a 10x time champ or Deegan a 5x time 250 champ because of SMX. Specially not when it has only been three years since SMX is a thing.

Obviously the value and amount of money riders can make just in 3 races is absolutely insane, no question about it. But counting and comparing a 3 race "title" to a 11 or 17 race season feels wrong.

He’s 20 years old, zero reason to move up until forced. This isn’t even a thing except for guys who were already 25+ years old winning 250 titles so not sure why everyone’s on Deegans tail about defending.

SMX has a separate #1 plate from either SX or MX and if it comes with a #1 plate it’s a title.

Shimoda certainly did beat him for the SMX championship, I stand corrected. In one of the three championships they raced together last season. A three race series, where Deegan was taken out of one race by a competitor. I do think most times Deegan had Shimoda and Davies covered though. For now, maybe Davies makes a jump this year? Might be cool if he does. I really forgot about Davies.

What about when Deegan took himself out and broke his own collarbone riding like a goon trying to make Shimoda crash? I’d say that type of riding is what caused Deegan to lose the SMX title. Same reason Deegan will have another one coming now from Kitchen, maybe at SMX again. Because he couldn’t help but start games with Kitchen Saturday night. Deegan has the speed, the skill and sometimes the race craft to win it all. But his ego and self consciousness continues to get in the way and he makes more enemies over and over. Also Davies had him covered in speed in SX a year ago until Deegan took him out too lol. But Davies may not have him on speed this year, we won’t know for a bit.

Ok how about a inappropriate person's antics? How about an insesitive person's antics? What adjective would you prefer rather than his age? Like him or not he is going to be around awhile. Nobody stated Jett or anybody else behaved like he does, I was simply stating his age.

I don’t think anyone would be looking for an adjective. As I said just accept it’s who he is. There isn’t a need for an explanation. I know he will be around a while, which is good, we need great competitors competing. The antics of his are a big downfall for him so people point them out, they are one of his very few weaknesses, he could be even better then he already is if he gave antics up and just do what he does best, go insanely fast on a dirtbike.

Based off of Deegan's SX performance through 2025, I thought he would have a difficult time transitioning to the 450 in SX specifically. He had completed some great races, but too often, he would get flustered and just ride over his head, which doesn't go over well against the likes of Tomac, Sexton, Hunter, Webb, and Roczen, not to mention Jett. However, he's looking like a different animal this year. Riding within his limits and hasn't really made a single mistake outside of his supbar start in the A1 main. To me, he looks primed to be competitive in 450 SX. Not saying he will beat Jett or Tomac for a title or anything super lofty, but I have no doubt he'd be able to mix it up and put together some solid results.

Outdoors is different. I think he's been 450-ready since 2024.
