I heard a dislocated shoulder.

Is that right, and his only injury?

Man!! These guys are so freaking strong. Physically, mentally, emotionally. To get back and put that in the past is incredible.

Bummed for both of them to start the season this way but pretty stoked they have relatively light injuries reported despite what it looked like last night. Those guys are in such good shape to be able to take hits like that. I hope Malcolm and Justin heal well and have great return to the sport.

He knew he was going to get landed on…. Looked right, then Barcia came from the left….wonder why he backed out of the triple? Massive balls to hit these jumps, let alone in traffic…..

Roczen jumped up the inside of him through the rhythm just before the triple, and they almost came together. It looked to me like Malcolm had to pull hard right to avoid tangling with him, and he backed off to not triple to the right off of the track or into whomever it was on his right that he was looking up at to make sure he wasn't going under him.

When he stood up, it looked like his leg about gave out on him. Hip? Thigh? Nuts? All those things have hindered my high step to various degrees. If he races this week, he's a genuine bad man.

Edit: He's a bad man if he doesn't race. Just getting up and limpin' off shows he's a tough somebody.

I've had multiple shoulder dislocations and based on those experiences it wouldn't seem like a good idea to stress the shoulder again right after being dislocated. I was always told to take time off to allow the shoulder to heal and tighten back up a bit since if it dislocates again in a short time frame things will only become looser and possiblly need surgery to fix. But then , with these guys being in such great shape maybe apples to oranges to compare to my situation.

I believe he was getting an MRI to see if there was any ligament damage but even if there wasn’t I feel like I agree with you. We’ve seen guys pop their shoulder back and go racing immediately after but it almost seems like it’s a high risk of it popping out again even without crashing. These dudes are so tough, though. I don’t even understand it.

I’d be done for the season and likely feeling like my body would never be the same again, but Malcolm’s out there trying to come back the following weekend.

Riding through arm pump is hard enough, I’m not grabbing a set of handle bars if I have dislocated ribs/broken cartilage. Wild.

Likely one of the main causes of AC's struggles. He was losing and popping shoulders back in weekly it felt like.

He had issues because of the way his shoulders grew. They refer to it as "shallow sockets" apparently.

I so confused is Malcolm racing this weekend or not. I just watch MXA podcast and there saying they talk to the KTM guys and they said he is going to be out for awhile. I guess I’ll have to wait for Racerx to release who is out for San Diego.

Bummed for them both! All of the work they put in to be prepared for the season and gone on the first lap of the main. Mookie looked awesome at Bercy and I thought he would roll in with confidence and be a top 5 guy with some podiums this year. Problem is he rolled the wrong jump. So glad they're both with minor injuries.

Always wondered if he took growth hormone. Guess we'll never know.

If this is his first, I’d expect a hell of a lot of bruising and inflammation. That man was in a lot of pain for good while. Really thought it was a broken arm.

Both Malcom and Justin are listed on the entry list. SuperMotocross World Championship :: San Diego :: Entry List

Subject to change...

I saw that to I can see Malcolm giving it a go if there was no damages to his shoulder, but you would think Barcia would have to set this one out do to blacking out and maybe having a concussion.

He’s able to cast with the other arm.
