I don't do instagram, but I thought about Brian this morning and went to check his instagram. From what I can tell, he's deleted all the posts going back to right before his accident. Anybody have any updates on him? Hope the kid is doing alright mentally and emotionally.

It actually appears there is a pretty big lawsuit floating around between him and the medical team and possibly Feld. I don't know many details on it, but it looks like a lawsuit over moving him recklessly, or something along those lines.
I found the link to the lawsuit, but the server thinks its spam. It wont let me add it.
ah, here's all the info on it from July '22.
Still kinda odd to erase his online life up to that day. regardless, hope it all works out for him.

I don't think it's that odd. As they will use it all as evidence. On insta you post all your happy moments. The law suit will say he is suffering from depression and is in a dark place. Now you have conflicting evidence. Delete it all and the lawyers cannot use it.

1. does anything really go away from the internet?
2. many of his posts were quite depressed, which is why I thought of him.
Regardless, I hope it all works out and he has a great life. helluva curve ball he was thrown.
As if pictures of one smiling confirms that they don’t suffer from depression. That’s not “evidence.” Come on.
I would bet that there is a large % of people that post that life is great, but are falling apart mentally.
Maybe he got rid of his old posts since his life has changed so much and he doesn't want a reminder of what it was like. trying to look forward and not be defined by his past. Either way I hope he's got good people around him. I had a much, much less impactful injury that made me go from being very active physically, to having to be off my feet for most of the time . And I was depressed.
There have been many studies done that show your brain stops making the chemicals that make You feel happy when You are very active and stop suddenly. I have a friend who had a bad spinal injury that has been an inspiration to me. Seeing him work to overcome so much.
Very sad story, never got to line up for SX.

So, motion to dismiss denied…
Sad situation for sure... couldn't imagine losing the ability to walk and do the things I love at 18..
Agreed, no winners here…
Pretty reckless to move someone when they’re telling you they don’t have feeling in their legs. Yikes
No doubt at all his lawyers told him to do that on social media. If you know, you know. Lawsuits suck ass for everyone but the lawyers.
I just wish him a decent life in the broken dreams alley. Mentally it is tough, plus people in a chair also have a shorter life very often, with a much worse life quality, so that sucks on every aspects. I just hope they find a non disclosed agreement soon because the evidences look so bad that the money could be ballistic here.
That is why we should all root for more safety : radio com, best in class tuff blocks, mandatory protections, more severe concussion or injury protocols, etc (feel free to think out of the box) because these kind of lawsuits could and highly probably will happen again regarding negligence, and nobody here want SX to disappear or to pay for half a century. Just imagine the issue if Jett or Deegan dies while racing due to a bad tuff bloc, no chest/back protection, and a flagger issue. Let us make a big leap on safety and ultimately that will grow the sport as most parents don't want to put their kids in dangerous situations as they all should do, simply because the local racing will always be worse than what is on tv. Freefight, ok, but in the most controlled way.
On a similar note, arent there some camps that think Schumacher's injury was caused by the little box on his helmet that takes video was sort of a pendulum or leverage point?
I'm sure people think that. I would think a square video box for sure would not help the situation. Helmets are designed the way they are for a reason.
Heres an article about the camera mount being suspected as what caused the brain injury.

This is why the FIM and AMA dont allow helmet cams anymore. Theyre secured to the helmet and not designed to break away. If your head hits the dirt you dont want a solid piece of metal sticking off the helmet that catches on the ground or something else. Helmets are tested and designed to work without things attached to them. Adding things to them completely changes things.

Is he able to walk any?
After the Barcia thread, I decided to check Pacer to see where they are at with the lawsuit. Looks like it went to trial this week. Is anyone covering it?
Moreau v. Feld Motor Sports, Inc., 8:22-cv-01295 – CourtListener.com
Was just thinking about Brian, good bump, hope to see this get moving
man, that is a BOATLOAD of activity. No lawyer here, but I do work with civil litigation all the time. That is a MOUNTAIN of filings/hearings/etc.
How the hell is this taking place and no reporting on it at all from the industry? Am I reading this right? There's been a jury trial with electronic recording going on for days? Surely there's a ton of info relevant to the sport being exposed there. And I cannot believe this made it to trial. Looks like AMA settled their portion? Mostly Feld and medical defendants left?
Looks this way…..Sx/Mx media too focused on jets balls and cowboy hats….
Mike Muye had to get on the stand and testify. Seems relevant.
@LewisPhillips this is taking place in Tampa. Go.
You know that Barcia footage was exhibit #1 on Monday morning.
Yeah serious head in the sand moment from moto media not reporting a peep about this trial. Come on RacerX, shout you aren’t biased…
Reporting against the promoter of the sport isn’t going to end well for anyone that wants a press pass
I for one don't think it's their job to report on trials or court hearings. It's a race magazine is it not?
