I'm a Sexton fan. But that performance was par for the course for him. I wouldn't blame the bike. He's done the same thing on every bike when he lets pressure and excitement take over. 

He qualified first.... bike can't be that bad. He's just a head case 

Don’t think so…. He was TQ by over half second.  I think he just had an off night.  He spun on the grate on the restart and was basically dead last going in to the first turn.

Don’t think the 40th to 1st is something to expect from any rider to repeat….

Chase looked great in practice and his heat until he made a very Sexton mistake and made multiple mistakes in the main 

There was another factory kawi, he didn't made the main... 

Especially in StarterCross... and on a track like this one.

I just looked again to be sure and there are 16 more rounds to go... so I'm gonna resereve judgement until I get a bigger sample size to analyze.

Others can feel free to pull a muscle from jumping to conclusions after one race.

Kawi have always had this reputation of being stuck in their ways and somehow people think "its factory kawasaki and I know oscar" (looking at you pulp) They've always been said to be the hardest and non flexible to work with for ages now.

MAYBE wait till at least a few races into the season to make such a claim….  Let’s be realistic!!

Not gonna lie, Prado surprised the hell out of me.. doesn’t mean the Kawi is bad, but sure justifies they couldn’t figure out how to get the most out of him..

Nah, he just made a Sexton-esque mistake and let it get in his head, as he typically does. His biggest weakness is letting bad things snowball into horrible results. This same exact night would've happened even if he was on a KTM or Honda.

Prado was fine in SX on the Kawi, outdoors is where he didn't gel and became George the quitter!

You know, there actually be some validity after tonight 😅 

Just ironic it was the absolute best case scenario for KTM and Prado, and the absolute worst for Kawasaki as a whole. 

Jorge winning a heat race straight up and following it up with a podium was not on my bingo card. Every single Kawi rider had something go wrong today and Marchbanks didn’t even make the main. Really rough night for Team Green outside of qualifying. 

John and Eli were pretty vocal about that being why they left. 

I think he imploded mentality.

There's no way a rider as good as sexton cant win on any color, however the case of kawi being shit is building. 

After everything that happened with Prado last year, and all the conversations on every single podcast that had anything to do with our sport. I’m actually speechless on what he did on that KTM during qualifying, his heat race and the main. He put all of his chips on himself being back on that KTM. I’ve never seen any rider prove his doubters wrong in such a fashion!! Remember, he’s nowhere near being a Supercross specialist but he looked damn good and comfortable on that bike. Just think about what he’s capable of when they go outdoors, with confidence in his bike and himself. He’s got to be the story of the opening round!!

This. He did the same thing on his KTM fairly regularly.

He will win races. He will have some shocking nights too. If he was on his KTM I doubt the night goes all that differently. 

Front end looked horrible in many turns.  That was a bad debut. 

A1 is a weirdo race though. He could win next week and Eli could get 7th. 

Go back and listen to some of the interviews with Jake Weimer on PulpMX. He had the exact sentiments when he was on Kawasaki. Kawi was stuck in their ways and Jake had to ride what the said. They knew best and the data doesn’t lie so he was out of luck being able to test anything to his style/liking. 

But Sexton is gonna Sexton no matter the brand. Chase the Choker. 

Also the rear end was constantly stepping out. Even in qualifying the bike looked super stiff and not very manageable. His fast lap in qualifying looked sketchy as all get out. I was surprised he went to the top of the board after that lap. 

Look Sexton does tend to tuck the front he did on the Honda (people blamed the Honda), so he went to KTM and did it there (people blamed the KTM), now he's at Kawasaki doing the same thing. The common denominator is the rider.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes out and wins the next round ! 

Something about the current kawi chassis is off. 
I loved my 16,  I hated the current one.  10 years ago it was the privateer bike of choice.  Now they don’t ride them.   There were 3 kawis in main event tonight.  They got 8th 19th and 20th.  Even Andersen looked better on old zook 

Anyone know where Sexton was in relation to the Barcia crash? I wonder if he seeing that up close got to him mentally. At least for me I wouldn’t feel like touching a dirt bike for a minute.

Agreed. On the flip side Brayton mentioned on the post race show how good Tomac's corner speed looked and how his lean angle looked great. Tomac followed up that JB had a good eye and that he felt really good in the corners and hasn't had the lean angle and front end confidence that he has right now in a while. Bad news for the others.

He was definitely overriding the track.  Had a tip-over, went off the track twice and still pulled 8th.

He'll be alright.  

Anderson also came off the kawasaki and for a while there looked like a podium was in the cards but still came home in 5th on a suzuki. 

He's never had a problem going fast for one lap.

Tomac winning on KTM - he's won on everything, I don't think it necessarily says a lot about the bike.

Sexton with lots of speed matched with mistakes - same as every other brand. Not sure it says anything about Kawi or the KTM he just left.

Prado - yeah, redemption for him and maybe it was the Kawi.  If not the bike, the team/environment.
