This might be my best chance to go see a Final without having to fly across the country. Curious to see what tickets will cost when they go on sale.

Bass Pro Shops has such a great story. And Johnny Morris seems to be a stand up guy.

Was going to say I’m surprised they don’t use Malcom. Then after scrolling down… nice.

The Galaxy stadium is cool but seemed pretty small in capacity when I went a couple years ago. Very interesting to see how they handle that and what the layout will be.

Monster signing a long contract with SMX, and Bass Pro signing up for finals. That’s a good story!

Maybe NASCAR pissed off Johnny Morris enough for him to move some support elsewhere? Whatever the cause, having him involved in SMX is a good thing.

Both of the soccer stadiums appear to be 27k capacity. It’s not LA Coliseum, but maybe a smaller venue is more appropriate? I don’t know what to think about that.

I'm curious to know why.  From what I understand he's a pretty standup guy.  Can you please inform me.

I disagree, there is a lot of space outside of the stadium that they can utilize for the “motocross” section.

Yea, hoping they go outside the stadium.  Only seats about 22k.  Surprised but thankful.  Will be going.

Small parking lot north of stadium seems like only possible area outside the stadium that could be used/accessed, no?

I assume they could also use the space on the east side of the stadium. I may be mistaken but I think it’s where they have the second stage for sonic temple.

I don’t know how they could get out and back into the stadium besides the main entry spots. If they had suites my buddy’s and I would grab out to split.

I was trying to look at pics of stadium and looks to me like only ways in and out are south main entrance and north amphitheater thing that has loading dock on back. We'll see what they come up with. If it's anything like st louis last year they won't have any actual plan and it'll be a lot of nothing when they finally build it.

I'll be up there in few weeks for gymnastics meet at expo center, maybe I'll snoop around a little.

Wish there were better walkable options to stay for the weekend but that stuff is kinda out by itself so everyone will have to drive in for event. Should be nice weather that time of year though.

Luckily OSU plays Texas at Texas on that date so there should be plenty of hotel options. While they may not be walkable they still are very close.

This is before the amphitheater was built. I am very interested to see what the layout will be after seeing a few concerts here. Hope the can use some of the surround natural terrain. Either way with Johnny's name on it, it will be top tier.

Yep, Mr Morris always does it with class.

I stoked to have this an hr from my house!

Edit:

Spellcheck got me on Johnny’s name!

So the Branson venue currently only holds 20k.  Talked to a friend of mine that he closer to it than I am.  His wife has gone to a couple concerts there and it's a nightmare getting in and out of there.

I feel like every outdoor MX location I’ve been to has been the same so nothing new here.

Gotta say I think it would be hard to come up with more underwhelming venues than this. Two soccer stadiums and an outdoor amphitheater and none of them anywhere you'd consider a destination. Asking teams to go Ohio to California to middle of nowhere Missouri where they'll have to stay an hour away, take forever to get there, have zero on site infrastructure, so they can celebrate the end of the season in Branson Missouri...... it's a joke. They've had to go way down the list to get enough guys to fill the gates the last couple years. Good luck getting the privateers to drive their sprinter 5000 miles in just over 2 weeks to line up for an LCQ or whatever dumb name they gave it last year.

They could always go to LOTO (Lake Of The Ozarks) to celebrate after just a little more north. Thats quite a place that is known for nationally.

If I'm in Branson and just won $1,000,000 I'm taking JCoop's private jet straight to New Orleans, can't be that long of a flight.

Don't get me wrong, I have some hazy fun memories from lake of the Ozarks and float trips on the current river, but not sure it's what most of these guys are looking for.

It is sometimes. They have come along way in the last year. I went last year, I live 30min on the other side of the lake. Took me less than an hour to get home from turnpike and treaty oak

I'll own it. Not when it comes to leather goods, but when it comes to travel I'm making the most of it, eating well, sleeping well, and having a good time, etc. Travel and cutting loose when I do keeps me sane. May not be the case for everyone, but for me if one of these ended up somewhere cool I'd be using it as excuse to get away. I might hit Columbus because I've got friends there and am there a few times a year anyway, but these locations don't have me excited about making any big plans. Totally get it if others don't care either way.

Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but there are some very predictable issues with the Missouri location beyond just not being able to entertain yourself for the rest of the weekend. Having a hard time seeing how that one goes off smoothly.

It’s not a river, it’s a huge lake with multi-million dollar boats all over it and even higher priced real estate all around it lol with night life to support it. You might have been in the Ozarks not at LOTO idk.

I'm plenty familiar with lake of the Ozarks..... have been there many times...... have also been on float trips on the current river not too far from there..... I lived in Columbia for 5 years in my 20's..... trust me I know how to have a good time in the middle of Missouri.

Also, you sure it's not a river? how do you think that giant man made lake got it's start?

I’m with you on this one. Maybe if there was some onsite camping like an outdoor race, I’d be more into it, but not having but a handful of accommodations nearby (within a few minutes) kills it for me. When we go to an sx race I like to stay downtown near the stadium so I can walk, when we go to Red Bud we like to camp and enjoy the weekend.

Just kill this SMX stuff already and bring back the Monster Cup.

I think this is proof in the pudding that this whole SMX Playoffs thing has flopped. Give it 3 years or more and it will be gone or changed to something else.

Edit: When does the current TV deal end? My bet is that date will be the end of it.
