Here is your top 5 at the end of the championship.  Yellow takes the gold:

Roczen
Webb
Tomac
Hunter
Sexton

Chase should have won the 2025 title. If he rides consistently he got this without issue.

It's just so hard to beat Webb. Faster riders only need one bad race. I want both Tomac and Sexton to not have bad races, but on new bikes it just seems unlikely to not have some teething problems getting the bikes dialed in. Webb seldom has bad races, and sneaks wins in when others make the smallest mistake.

This is why I think it's gonna be a repeat.

It has to be Sexton.  Prime opportunity to avenge coming up short last year.

Hunter Lawrence did pretttty damn good in SMX a couple months ago.  I wouldn’t bet against him

Reaction to this is pretty funny.  I just checked SMX results and dude went 4-1-2 overalls.  To think he’s not one of the favorites to win...

Hunter is without a doubt one of the best MX riders right now and also had insane performances at the SMX playoffs last and this year. But as many people already said, I think we need to pump the brakes and wait for Hunter to win a SX race first before we declare him as one of the contenders.

As of now I wouldn't put him above Kenny/Tomac/Webb or Sexton. I'd put him in a group with Malcom, AP and Jcoop, fighting for top 5th most of the time, podium occasionally and can hopefully win a race or two next year. Though I wouldn't mind if he came out swinging and fight for the title, easy guy to root for!

I have to say though.. If Malcom comes into A1 like he did at Paris, watch out.

Going purely off previous SX form, imo:

Sexton should be hard to beat, and he’s been quiet this offseason, which I think is a good thing, but the new bike is a big variable.
That makes Webb favourite, same bike, same team, same dog. Barring disaster, he’ll be in it until the end.
I expect Tomac to have flashes of brilliance as usual, but can he be consistent? The KTM not being dialled for him on all surfaces may be an issue.
Roczen has more skill than anyone out there. If he can repeat his early last season form and keep it going, he could pull off one of the most popular title runs ever.
Hunter is consistently fast enough to be there at the end and I think once he gets his first win, he’ll only get better. However while he’s already élite outdoors, he hasn’t shown that indoors, yet.

He won St. Louis.  Go rewatch that one and tell me it’s not a supercross race.

No whoops does make a big factor I’d say but I do think Hunter gets at least a win this year !

Whoever stays healthy between Tomac, Webb and Sexton has the best shot. Hunter, Roczen and Mookie might surprise, especially Hunter since he has the speed and consistency, but outside of Jett those three have dominated the championship the last 7 years.

New bike for Webb as well. Word is he isn't getting along with the '26 but they should be able to just run a 25 frame if that's what it takes to make him comfortable, but if they can't, that means Hunter and Roczen have a huge advantage on the #4, #3 & #2 in terms of bike setup knowledge.

I think you spelled TOMAC wrong... He was clearly the fastest guy until the dumb Tampa injury.

Would love to see Kenny get one before he retires but realistically I think Sexton should take it

IMO - Jett was the obvious pick for SX champ in 26 - with him out there is new thinking by every team with a top rider - their chances to grab the top spot have increased dramatically and will change their approach to this championship.   Every team is now thinking #1 instead of somewhere in the top 5, and why not - they are all capable.

I want to think Tomac however the #96 is my pick for this years champ.

“Could have” = Didn’t.

Is it a statistic, or not?

Have a Snickers, bro. You're the one that cant accurately articulate your thoughts and then throwing a hissy fit. So you used the wrong wording, grow up and move on 👍

I'd like to see Roczen or Tomac take all the marbles...but that's sentiment. Realistically it's going to either be Webb or Sexton, and Coop has had tons more time on his bike.

And that substantiates a “hissy fit” to you?

Maybe it’s a cultural thing? Maybe “hissy fit” means something different in the USA, I dunno..🤷‍♀️

Everyone thinks the title is wide open and up for grabs now that Jett is out, but the real story is that the title went up for grabs when Deegan decided not to fully prepare and race the 2026 450 in supercross. I say fully prepare because he toyed around at the off season races, but was just there having fun.

I picked Webb. I think consistency will be huge. I think Chase, KR and Eli will have more speed at times, but I like Webb's chances now. When Jett's there, he stacks a lot of wins and it gives him a nice cushion, if he has a bad night. But the remaining riders probably won't be able to do that and Webb's consistency will put him in a nice spot, all year.

I think Kenny has the best shot at this since he wrecked his arm in 2017. He has been strong to the end in most of his races  last year - no fading - and his WSX performance (though limited to 12 laps in main) was solid. With Tomac and Sexton on new bikes the only repeat winner on an established platform is Webb. But like I said earlier, Webb is just too solid. Kenny is going to have to pull a "Rocky" and just stick with it till the end like Webb always does. I think Kenny can beat Webb on a 1:1 race if he can keep him within a few points until the end of the series.
