One of the things that can be controlled to some degree is the people doing stupid things in the pits . Saddleback kicked out numerous people for doing stupid things, and those people typically didn't do stupid things when they came back. People do stupid things in the pits at some tracks because there is little to no enforcment at those tracks.

Agreed!

Random side bar for this socal tracks thread (so I am not creating a new thread)

I live in Ventura, left for 18-ish years and just returned last year... am I kinda just fucked? We used to have Piru, Zacha, and LACR, but like as far as I can tell there's nothing within 2 hours from me.

All I see around 2-2.5 hours is Honolulu Hills and Cal City MX.

Chat, am I cooked? 😵

Sadly, yes.

Yeah.  It completely sucks. Losing LACR was a huge blow, after losing all of the others.

I'm pretty sure the land in your pics is owned by the city of Moorpark and Waste Management respectively, so neither will ever be an MX track.

You have to check their instagram page for current status. The only ones that may be open are Glen Helen and Cahuilla

Prado Dam track proposed 36 years ago and counting. - Moto-Related - Motocross Forums / Message Boards - Vital MX

Thats the last post I can find about Prado dam raceway.

Is there any news about the Prado Dam track development? There's been so many rumors over the years. With the new 71/91 interchange now being complete this would be a great opportunity to build a race track thats centrally located between LA/OC/ and the inland empire.

Prado MX

This. Add Sunfair 42 to the list as well. CalCity may be open this weekend too, but they've been getting hit hard with weather this season.

Hoping for Barona, but the amount of rain we have received in Southern California over the last 24 hours is probably going to wash out most of the tracks this weekend around here…

Announcement Saturday the 3rd I think. They’re really hyping it up that’s for sure.

From what I've seen on socials it seems like the announcement is something to do with the SLR team.

I'd say you're right. Probably something to do with Desert racing. Maybe safety related? Honestly no idea, we'll find out soon.

Well I stupidly didn't check the weather before heading to Glen Helen, only to arrive to 55mph winds...

Anybody have any riding spots near Simi Valley or Acton?

Hail Mary to sweeten the pot, but: I have a small cinema package if anyone wants to trade private track time for unlimited social media commercials/content

Yes it's windy as hell over here. I was gonna ride there tomorrow but more wind in the schedule, so it looks like Perris Sunday is the move. Regardless, Glen Helen didn't even have practice scheduled today. Unless it's world vet weekend or an event like that, they aren't typically open on Fridays. Why didn't you go to Perris or Fox?

Either I woke up and thought today was Thursday or I misread the Instagram schedule post... $25 (gas) brain fart - thank you for pointing that out!

I just moved up to LA, so Fox is now super far for me. Like everyone else I'm super bummed LACR is closed. Both it and Glen Helen are only and hour drive for me. Really wish there were a Simi Valley track

It’s a beautiful day up here at Honolulu Hills. Barely even a breeze.

Wowza. It's pretty windy here at barona right now too. Didn't think it was going to be this bad here.  Oh well.

Yeah I made the long trip from Temecula to Barona as well today.   Windy as hell, getting blown off the jumps, and not in a good way😐

Left at noon, hopefully tomorrow at Perris will be better...

I was gonna do Perris tomorrow too but I think I'm gonna pass on riding this weekend. Too windy everywhere.

Fox closed for Spartan? Wtf is that?

Are perris and Cahuilla the only tracks open this weekend?

This sucks! Elsinore can't open soon enough. We need another facility in the rotation. This blows.

Stop suing and bitching about prep! Carry on...

Barona is open this weekend.

Per what I said last time at thread came up about suing and track conditions... tracks and riders as a whole need to quit doing stupid shit.

Couple of weeks ago at GH, they drove a large 6x6 water truck onto the track as I was coming around Talladega, myself, Villo, and Tyler Lynn almost hit him third gear pinned.

I go yell at the guy, he does it again.

No flaggers, open practice, just driving equipment across the track.

Every time I go to the track lately, I just see the dumbest stuff. People going third gear pinned in the pits, trainers on tracks riding sections with no gear or helmet on. Trainers everywhere with riders cutting on and off the tracks without looking. 50cc kids on the main tracks during the middle of the week practice getting clipped and rolling around. People looping out doing wheelies through the pits. People getting on the track going backwards. Riders getting landed on left and right when they're down because tracks have little to no flaggers. The few they have don't care.

I'm born and raised in SoCal, and never have the tracks and people's overall attitudes and decision-making been so poor.

God we need help...

Holy smokes. I’ve been looking at bikes for me & my sons to get back into it… honestly, that makes me rethink it all.

None of that sounds fun, or safe. WTF is going on!?
