I am so pissed that I’m just now finding out about the money race you just had. I’m up there all the time servicing my dealers, count me in!!!!

I'm about 2.5 hours south but I'd definitely make a the trip a few times, started riding a small local sand track and really starting to enjoy sand a lot more and want to level it up a bit.

Hey everyone, wanted to share a big update.

Back in 2012 I made a thread here on Vital trying to uncover the history of a forgotten National at my home track. It’s still up if you want to revisit it:
https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Missing-history-of-a-long-lost-National,1248074

Fast-forward to today: the property is under new ownership, and I came on board in March 2024 to help rebuild and operate it. Last November, for the first time in 30+ years, we brought equipment in and restored the 1977 125cc Pro National track — the same one Bob Hannah called “America’s Toughest Motocross Track.”
After riding it again, I can confirm he wasn’t exaggerating.

This track will test your fitness, your technique, your focus, and occasionally your pride. The elevation, cambers, and natural rough force real throttle control and constant line choice. It trains your mind and body at the same time and makes you a better rider whether you meant to or not.

We’ve also added:

A corner track

Woods riding

A full campground for multi-day training blocks

Why I’m posting:
I’m seriously considering turning this into a full-time training facility and want honest input.

If you’re heading to Loretta’s, would you stop here to train?
Or make a trip just to let this place toughen you up the old-fashioned way?

Check out this side by side, before and after I made on YouTube: Click Here

Drop any feedback — hype, criticism, reality checks, or the classic Vital “you’re doing it wrong.” I can take it.

I just watched a YouTube of a guy on a Triumph 250 there… wow. Looks like fun but my old butt would be dragging before I made 1 lap!!!

I may have to plan a trip up there sometime. About a 6 hr drive, though.

On second thought, it would probably be quicker and less painful if I stopped in East St. Louis to pick a fight with some gang members.

Remember riding that with Jr Jackson, I think Todd Walton and some others during winter to spring time.  If you wanted to practice sand whoops wide open, all track long, that was the place.  It definitely got you in shape. Memories...

Absolutely! We have a membership program so you could get a key to the place and ride whenever besides black out event dates.

What's the details on the membership program? that sounds awesome!
