I still see Colt Nichols on a Suzuki as well. Maybe the teams let them keep a practice bike.
Matthes said in a podcast that PC has shipped him crates so that he can send back the bike (or bikes) and they've been there for a while, but they haven't shipped them back yet.
Did this happen with Star and/or AEO too? Does anyone remember that or am I trippin?
I really like this kid, but if this is true that’s not acceptable. Seems he or his family are hard to deal with which has gotten in the way of his team deals.

I feel bad for the next owner of one of those bikes.
Happened with AEO, took Jeremy a while to get his stuff back...some things took months.
Nichols is on the HEP team for 2026.
When are you posting your Silly Season update?
That’s crazy. Want to do things your way and be difficult, but don’t want to send other peoples shit back. Crazy.
Entitlement. Ego. People around you pissing in your ear about how "they can't treat you like that"...all that.
Masterpool got a lot of fans while on the 450. He should keep in mind how far being a fan favorite has taken Plessenger and Wilson, and not burn his fan support over stupid moves like this.
Sad part is, the story doesn't even have to be true, just believed. Manage your optics.
Is there another thread someone can point me to talking about what transpired between him and PC? I’ve tried using the search tool and it’s not functioning for me.
What do you mean? They signed him, he's still not great at SX and apparently is hard to work with, so they didn't extend his contract.
Yep, it is a standard for him. It happened with others that supported him.
Expanding on that, Mitch allowed him to train on his own in Texas and the Masterpools weren't communicating with the team during his prolonged injury until they said they're ready to race 4 days before the next national. That was not enough notice to get the logistics in place to have him ready to go for them that weekend. Then Ty goes on to say later in multiple interviews that he would've returned to racing earlier but PC wouldn't let him.
Prime example of why PC prefers to not let their guys just go run loose on their own programs. Mitch let up on that because it was working for other riders but Ty took advantage of it and tanked his results (and reputation) in the process. It's a great example of giving someone an inch and they take a mile.
Not that it’s ever good to piss anyone off in the industry, but I would think Mitch would be in the top 2 of people you’d never want to do that to if you wanted a future in your riding/industry career…
He’s not fast enough to act this way
The masterpools seem lol real pieces of work. If I was pc I would be flying someone down there and renting a van to pick up our bikes n stuff.
Pit Row
I feel like it's the same story with Masterpool over and over again. Kills it outdoors as a privateer, gets a ride, struggles in SX, gets dropped by team because family is difficult to deal with, then repeat.
Sounds like he's doing durability testing. PC should be grateful for it.
He’s got 5 more days to ride those bikes before they “have” to be shipped back.
I think this is the best summation of his actions.
He did the same thing to us when he rode my bikes- the ones he claimed he got on Craigslist.
What do you expect when ya hang around Lucas, entitlement just like him.
Highly doubt he will ever get another factory ride again, let alone any ride.
Reading the comments above, it sounds like the crates are at his house but the deadline hasn't yet passed to send them back. So maybe he isn't doing anything wrong or out of contract. Everyone complains he has no supercross skill and here he is building supercross tracks and training while others are in off season. So what exactly is the issue?
I’m happy to hear he’s back with them for 2026. Very cool
The issue is every team he's ridden for has been left with a bad taste in their mouth and his family has a rep of being super difficult to work with. He also hasn't produced results in SX so building a practice track is great and all but that doesn't mean anything until he has some proof.
You have no clue what his agreement with PC is or when exactly his contract expires. Mitch could have told him to keep riding until he has new bikes for all we know.
It's also very clear you've never met the family.
It's like I said above, it doesn't have to be true, just believed. That's why it's in his best interest when he posts pictures like that to thank PC for the use of a bike. Manage your optics.
Remind me what he got in SMX this year? You know the championship that the announcers say is the best. Wasnt it 6th. Thats pretty dang good.
