Some of these takes are crazy. I feel like some of you guys have genuinely never been in a high stress relationship in your life. Whether it’s correct is irrelevant, but Jorge perceived that his career and future were jeopardized and made strong reactions. I support the guy just as much as before.

He did what he thought was best, and was strong about it. Meanwhile fat guys online are mad about it😂

Pretty certain there are plenty of people on these threads that would swap their stress and worries for Prados. He's not worried about putting a kid through college, health insurance for his kids, a mortgage, student loans, his parents getting alzheimers, no he is fine no matter what. Some people on this sight I would bet are hoping to get caught up on rent so they're family doesn't get evicted, their cancer diagnosis is incorrect or they or loved ones have money for insulin next month. Prado doesn't know real pressure, he is spoiled.

That really does put it in perspective. The only thing I disagree with you on is that , he has pressure and know what it is , it’s just a different type of pressure. I agree that it’s not the real life work’n mans / family mans pressure and I sure he’s felt it a lot this past summer and even now. But I definitely agree with you over thought.💯👍🏻

Many Europeans don`t have all these worries. I`m not rich and spoiled but college and healthcare are free for me. Not completely free, but funded through taxation. The same for many other European countries. I only buy health insurance when visiting the US, because it can be costly without...

I’m a fan of Prado but I really don’t know how anyone can defend his actions this past summer. The guy intentionally tried to not qualify for a race, in many of the races he did qualify for he simply gave up and just a had a shitty attitude the entire time. He bad mouthed his team saying he could win if they gave him a better bike when by all accounts the team was working their asses off to make him happy. Riders complaining about not being comfortable on their bike is nothing new, but purposely not trying to qualify should be unacceptable and it really just shows his true character, in my opinion.

Not meeting expectations results wise is one thing but he clearly wasn’t putting in the effort that was expected of him either.

You nailed it!

Keep in mind he barely got any testing or riding in during the offseason last year.

I know I'm in the very small minority here but I kind of respect him for this. Not the way he handled himself, that's been embarrassing, but simply the fact that he is willing to bet so hard on himself. He's putting all his chips on #70. He really truly believes he can compete with Jett, at least outdoors. It would've been much easier to just play it safe, collect checks and do what everyone else does which is not say anything about how much they dislike the bike until they get on another team and then suddenly we hear about all the struggles they used to have.

I'll be the first to say I think he'll prove some people wrong next year. May not win but I think he'll be fighting for podiums.

He has nothing for Jett or Hunter. Keep dreaming.

It's a fair question. I don't have a good answer.

I think it's unlikely.  I think he'll struggle again in SX. Maybe one or two good showings. I just don't think it's a bike/team thing. Learning SX on a 450 with factory level expectations is an impossible task for anyone. Even most 250SX champions end up hurt their rookie 450 year.

Jorge did unbelievably well when he came over on the GasGas, and I think it did him a disservice. He underappreciated the difficulty. And, I think SX rattled him, which led to the bad results outdoors that then snow balled.

That was a good answer!

I don’t know either, my hope is that he will do well, and chase will do well, and it will be one of those things that just didn’t work out for the parties involved.

I think a lot of people forget that it was reported that Prado had multiple crashes on the bike before SX, and the last one right before the season started was pretty bad. Then in SX he gets injured pretty early, had to have surgery,  it’s not that hard for me to believe he lost faith/trust in the bike. Whatever happened after that it was obvious that the team and Prado could not find common ground.

I’m sure many in here have had jobs, relationships, ect that have soured. I’m also sure the effort and energy put in after those relationships soured did not match the effort put in during the honeymoon phase.

If your employer could not provide the tools for you to effectively perform your job duties to the best level possible how would you feel? What is your mindset?

Do you think any champions doubt their abilities?

Jorge Prado is a “brand” just like Monster or Kawasaki. If Prado goes out, and gets injured pushing on a bike he’s not comfortable on, that could be the end of his brand. He has plenty of skin in the game. Time will tell if his brand will recover from all of this. Honestly, It seems like people believe he should have just went out there and killed himself over and over again.

What surprises me the most is the conviction that some people have here stating their opinions about the situation as fact and speak like they were there…

Nobody said he should kill himself! Tha's a laughable statement. He quit on the whole team, plain and simple.

Second, you probably don’t understand what it’s like to pour every ounce of your soul into a tiny hourglass, flip it over when you go pro, and to be up against a ticking clock every second of every day to perform and carve out your legacy with everything on the line.

From his perspective I can easily see how he can be in a literal panic mindset as his value tanks and he loses a precious 10-15% of his effective career window.

people like you who always have to go into the “struggle Olympics” whenever hard times come up are sad. You have your problems - deal with him. This man has his own - he’ll deal with them. Go outside and talk to someone besides yourself.

Get real.  Plenty of people have to do that just to make ends meet.

I don’t wish ill on Prado or any other rider but he’s being paid millions to race a dirtbike.  I’m not shedding a tear when their dreams don’t work out.

So because he makes a certain amount of money, his dreams are irrelevant? What if he didnt make good money? All you can see is ends meeting; We find ourselves back in the struggle olympics again.

I've had to bite my tongue on this issue for a long time but couldn't spill the beans because it would blow my cover.  In a nutshell, he thought he needed to take the extreme measures he did to get out of his contracts because the talks weren't working.  It had been going on for awhile, with some ugly shit going on, and they were making it tough on him and trying to keep him on board....so, he goes out and tries to not qualify to show just how badly he wants to leave.  Not that I agree with this at all, and yeah, like others I think he handled it very poorly. And it was Monster who held out the longest, not Kawi.

With that said, I do believe he'll come back and put in strong results at the front when he gets back on his old steel frames.  He really really wants to beat Jett.  I hope he comes back strong and puts on a good show, but I also realize he created a permanent lifelong negative moniker for himself to a lot of fans out there.  Understandably so.

I’m just going to say that Jason’s “personal issues” or his “thyroid issues” (take a pick) seem to be fine now that he is on HEP Suzuki, anyone want to speculate if Chase will be better on the Kawi than on the tuck the front Honda or blow up the rear shock with the carbon fiber shock cooling tube and Vialle saying there are lots of things you don’t know about yard sale KTM?

Chase will win on that bike people say. 8 wins this season with only 5 outdoor races so should be around the same next year I guess.
Personally I`m not sure. It depends on how he likes the bike. In MXGP the Kawi suits Febvre but Seewer wasn`t that happy and left after a year.

Chase will love the bike until he doesn’t and in two years we’ll still be hearing stuff like “we don’t have the bike quite where we want it yet”.

How many threads and pages can there be on a subject that is pure speculation?! None of us know, yet, what really went on.
I also find it very puzzling that some people don’t seem to understand that a bike can work for one person and not another……one of the basics of moto racing; personal setup.
Like wtf people, get a grip.

In July they did that…a bit late to start trying now isn’t it…

They’re a joke of a team. It’s been documented over and over how slow and stubborn they are. They ran off Chad reed and Eli by having their heads up their butts…

In the past 20 years, how many 450 teams have more championships than Kawasaki?  Someone is a joke, and it isn’t the team.

You made that part up. They moved to Club to test and flew parts and a test rider from Japan. Just going to ignore that?

They’re a joke of a team. It’s been documented over and over how slow and stubborn they are. They ran off Chad reed and Eli by having their heads up their butts…

In the past 20 years, how many 450 teams have more championships than Kawasaki?  Someone is a joke, and it isn’t the team.

And that’s what they’d say to everyone who isn’t rv and say it’s you not the bike get used to it, Ryan’s winning on it.

It’s documented but sure keep ignoring it. It’s happened repeatedly.

Dude that’s honestly the most retarded thing I’ve ever read. How tone deaf. First you don’t know anything about his personal life whatsoever.

Plenty of people pour every ounce of their soul into a tiny hourglass, they start a business, go to college, get married, on and on. Prado doesn't have a quarter million in student loans and can't get a job in his field, Prado didn't cash out a 401k and refinance his house to start a business, or put the lives of other people in his hands - like doctors, airline pilots, first responders. He is a spoiled Prima Donna, who shits on his co-workers publicly. He gets paid to do what many people pay to do and doesn't appreciate it.
