Eli changing forks was interesting, but as far as his performance, maybe that was "risk management" knowing he didn't need a podium spot to get in.

Never thought I’d see the day when Eli was the “weak link”. Hopefully he pulls a rabbit out of a hat tomorrow but today’s finish was eerily similar to how he raced this summer. He desperately needs to start up front or we’re cooked.

Cooper is the US teams beat starter.  This might come down to how well Eli and RJ start in their respective races.

Belgium are going to be right there as well.

So, if Chase wasn’t hurt who are you kicking to the curb?

If “if’s and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas”.

If Chase were on form, he would be in MXGP class and would have been P3-P5 with that horrendous gate pick.  Tomac would be in Open would probably have come 6th with that shit start he got.

But, knowing what I know today and just the feeling I have about how Rick is going to ride tomorrow, I might prefer him over Tomac….  Blasphemy I know.

I lot of you think the Aussies will be hard to beat. Do you not remember how close the result actually was last year.

Do you not remember the decades of bad luck we endured before this win, this is mxon, anything can happen.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Jett wasn't at full strength last year, coming off injuries. Hes healthy and better than ever. Hunter is better than ever. They're on a track they know better than a GP track. As an Americn fan my only hope now is that "anything can happen." Hunter out there looking like Jett Light. Dude is cooking

I wasn't really sure about the hype of the Coenen brothers. Don't really watch MXGP and being in a different series it's hard to tell how they stack up against the AMA guys. But they seem pretty damn legit. Pretty hyped to get up early and watch these races.

Also impressed by Cooper. Done incredible on the 250. Must be tough dropping back to the smaller bike. But he is a legit chance at winning his class. Can't see him being worse than 3rd in it atleast.

Yeah as an Aussie, even with the Lawrence brothers. Bad luck has been a common theme over the years. Hard to shake that sense!

Let’s hope we keep them 1,2,3 plates 🤘🏽

his start was pretty bad, gate pick certainly didn't help. Hopefully he can nail it tomorrow 🙏

Considering the 35th gate pick, overall good day for USA. Cooper and RJ really came through (Eli too, but we expect that out of him).

Lucas and Sasha, what great young talented brothers. Lucas going down in the first turn, very impressive ride to get back near the front.

And Sasha, that kid just sends it every lap. Amazing he doesn't crash more than he does (which is a lot), he rides so close to the edge and it doesn't even seem to phase him at all.

Very excited for tomorrow, finally no rain so just a great track and a great race!

I know I'm a fanboy but Giftings performance on a privateer and essentially stock bike as the top Yamaha in the MXGP class is very impressive. I think the entire Swedish team pits out of the Rock River rig?

Bummer for HOFF and team NL, would have good chances for the podium even without Herlings. WITH Herlings of last months would have been so good.  Understand USA Patriotism on here but what I saw is that they weren’t boss in their own house with 5th place. Let’s see today ☝️

Me too Smile Gifting rocks!

I would have hoped do see Denmark and Norway a bit further up... Haavisto from Finland did better than I was expecting, props to him.

Correct, gate picks for each team's 2 riders in the finals races is their qualifying position for one and +20 for the other.

Obviously it's up to the team to choose which rider gets which gate pick.

That was nasty. Blind jump on a corner and the nearest flagger is downhill on the inside of the track- not good enough.

Dumb question..  So assuming The Hoff is out, what happens for team Netherlands?  I know what happens to the team if a rider gets injured during the races, but I can't for the life of me find the rules for what happens to a team if one of their riders gets injured during the qualifying races.

If Coldenhoff is out, the team will only be able to get 4 results instead of 6, so they would end up in 20th place.

Thank you for the response.  So if they are in 20th, does that mean they are out of the race? I am trying to find the rules, but in 20th, you have to race the B final today, but is the team still eligible with only 2 riders?

He will get a 40 as his score. So say the other riders scored six points combined which would be the best they could. Then he will score 80 (40 per moto) in total but they would throw one away. So their total score would be 46

DeStouwer means 20th after the sunday races. DeWolf and Vlaanderen will race their motos today.
