The aspect of the race would have definitly change depending the mindset he would have step in to. If he raced, and won by 10-20 seconds, everybody would have criticize Levi. Haiden would be seen as the virtual winner, the strongest of the 250's, and still made a bunch of money.

By no means do I dislike HD, I'm actually a fan, but at times I do not agree with what they say or do. I have seen a pattern of every time they face criticism, it get's framed as "growing the sport" as like a cop-out. Dude gets arrested, "growing the sport." He takes his aggressive riding too far it's "growing the sport." It's like no matter what, everything is spun so it's either them doing everyone a favor by people seeing it or talking about. Then if it's not that, then it's someone else's fault. That part is getting a bit old. Levi Kitchen was "growing the sport" when he took Haiden out, then. They accused Mitch Payton of orchestrating that, but I think Mitch was just "growing the sport." That kid that did the bike claim was just "growing the sport." It can go both ways. So I'm sort of over hearing that after every incident.
I love how HD rides but I don't need to love everything he says or does. So I just wanted to give my opinion on this and I don't hold it against him. I do think he is going to come up big for the USA this weekend and I hope he does.

He could have easily won, took home the overall bonus, took home the 250K and also took home individual sponsorship bonuses....

The downvotes aren't because it's Deegan, the downvotes are because your premise is silly. People who are already fans of the sport talking with other people who are already fans of the sport on a message board designed for said fans, doesn't help grow the sport.
