Have you ever raced motocross?

Have you ever ran someone high in a berm?

Ever battled a buddy on a practice day and you make contact, run him high in a berm?

You guys are amplifying it as if he is sole stone cold psycho murderer.

It’s pro Supercross. They know what they sign up for. They race hard. And they make contact sometimes. Deegan smacked into him a couple times. Jo is a tough dude, he can take a couple slams, and it shows, because he’s the winner at the end of the day.

Difference is, Stew, Chad, and RC were throwing down racing moves—not auditioning for WWE

One doesn’t need to defend Deegan since a quick look at the history of the sport makes a good case that rubbing is racing.  Bob Hannah and Kent Howerton, Larry Ward and Chicken at Seattle in 1990, Damon Bradshaw and a list of riders, Chad Reed at the 2009 Las Vegas finale against Stewart, Zach Osborne on Savagty, Canard taking out RV for a title.

Every single one of them were as dirty or much more dirty than what Deegan did. Jo seems to understand that.

Just last week Levi Kitchen took out Deegan and was a hero. This week, Deegan goes for a title, people are glad he’s injured, and yet in all annuals of the sports history, Deegan is a pos for going for a title and riding dirty?

Not buying it. Deegan went for it, and paid the price with a broken collarbone. He now gets to eat crow for all his big talk. It will be a good thing because he’ll hopefully grow up a little from it.  But I think the issue here isn’t so much how Deegan rode as how a bunch of grown men feel about Haiden.  So really, as I previously said, the hideous attitude of being glad someone was hurt or wishing they were injured more, isn’t a reflection of Haiden or his actions and on or off the track. It’s a reflection of the person themselves. As mentioned, Jo didn’t have an issue with it. Just the keyboard cowboys who can’t temper their emotions.

I’ve read enough comments to make me embarrassed to be a fan of the sport, and I certainly won’t align myself with the fans who take joy in a rider being injured.  That’s my 2 cents, and is all I’ll say on it any further.

Gimme 3 instances where a rider had that violent of a crash mid Moto, gets up, sprints to their bike, remounts and charges all the way back from a 12 second deficit and nearly wins or wins. 125/250 class. I’ll wait. Tick tock.

So many hidden comments lol

Dikhead Deeges was riding around slow so Jo would catch up, then proceeded to line him up for a hit for the next 2 laps.

In my 240yrs of racing Ive only ever seen that on a club day, and let me tell you the sport they were doing after was not riding bikes, and the goon never came back to the track again.

240 years?  Congrats.

But check this out. Chad Reed repeatedly slowed down in an attempt to take Stewart out. In his interview afterwards, he admitted it and said he did what he had to do to try and win the title.

When he goes down multiple times, passes the leader multiple times, to have the ability and confidence to do that, I think we all know who the king is out there. Jo Shimoda is a G, but Deegan is on another world.

How does Haiden's sack taste

Bring in penalties that ban a rider from the next race. The teams will deal with the riders and this crap will stop

Deegan had an opening and he went for it. He went a little too deep though.  Looked like his front end  pushed.
It was a good back and forth battle up to that point.
😂😂😂

Glad to see Jo Jo Keller win it.

There was no battle.   Deegan was purposely  slowing down and letting  Jo by so he could  try and wreck him.  Jo just outsmarted  Deegan.

Deegan is a racer it’s as simple as that. In a post-race interview, Jo said he understood why Deegan rode the way he did and didn’t have a problem with it. So why do you?

Deegan was going for a title and it bit him in the ass. Jo didn’t have a problem with it and neither do I. What I do find troubling is the responses to Haiden’s injury. Being glad that someone is injured and/or wishing they were hurt worse is a disgusting attitude and is reflection not of Haiden Deegan, but of the person saying it.

After reading comments on this message board and social media, I would say Haiden isn’t the only one that needs to grow up.

Deegan was trying to hurt Jo. He should have been black flagged and pulled off the track. That was a show of stunning stupidity and cannot be defended as racing in any way.

He wasn’t trying to hurt Jo.

What if it was Joe's collar bone that ended up being broken? We all like to see hard racing and protecting your lead but not purposely hunting down your opponent to take him out.

I don't have time to watch the whole thing. Can you give us a timestamp where Reed let's Stew by, then cuts across the track to take him out and instead breaks his own collarbone?

Perhaps you didn't notice, but in the events of the crash you mentioned, his bike hit a rider in the head as it flew over him, and as he sprinted over to it to rejoin the race, he didn't even glance back to see if that rider was okay.

It's fine, I suppose, for those who have grotesquely low expectations of what this sport is, what it should represent, and whose participation it should attract.

Myself, I was hoping for.......... better? Yeah, better.

Shame is his incredible moto 1 with all his talent and drive on full display is forgotten with his douchebag antics in moto 2. Not to mention what we miss for MXDN.

I am a fan, but man, what an idiot! He would have earned respect and probably won over a lot of the haters had he just gapped Jo for the moto win. He would have went home with $250k also. Instead he gained more haters and went home with nothing but a broken collar bone. Hopefully he looks back on this and realizes how stupid it was. If he doesnt, then I don know what to say.

Wow. People will be talking about this for weeks. My friends, this is how you grow the sport.

Weather it’s hate or love, look at the discussions and passion behind people’s hot takes on here.

This is awesome.

If Damon hadn’t choked in 92, Stanton would’ve done exactly what you call a “snooze fest.” Yet both riders would have been celebrated-Damon for the title, and Stanton for going out and doing what he could, without riding like an asshole, to put himself in position to win the title and let the chips fall where they may.

Real winners go out and win when they need to and don’t resort to bush league nonsense to win titles.

Oh, and I thought no better of Reed’s bullshit on JS7 in Vegas when it happened.

If I had a choice between Deegan or Shimoda representing my brand, I’d take Shimoda and his respectful family all day long over the Deegan trailer trash clown show.

“Real Winners.” Who has held the #1 plate the last couple years in the 250 class? That’s not a “real winner?” Hahaha. You’re blinded by hatred for a 19 year old kid. It’s hilarious really. Instead of sitting back and enjoying the sport, you have a once in a lifetime talent kid piss you off because he’s that good. Love it.

What do you call friese and barcia’s racing moves? I’m curious.

Do you really not know the difference between legitimately racing for position and slowing down multiple times to take shots at taking someone down or breaking their motorcycle.

Hasn’t Freise and Barcia done that multiple times every single year up until about a year or two ago?
