Yep, my go to drug, week after week
It’s not just a dirt bike ….. It’s my life !
Me too.
I sincerely have this conversation every so often with my friends and family;
Them: “Why do you seem so pissed off?”
Me: “I’m not riding my dirtbike.”

To quote Steve McQueen, "Riding is life, everything else is just waiting". Ride two, three days a week, ten months a year. If anything an unhealthy obsession.
Just having a bike in the garage, ready to ride, keeps me happier.
During a complicated/expensive divorce a few years ago, I was riding a couple times a year instead of a couple times a month. Financially, I should have sold my bike, it would have helped in a few different ways, but those rare rides were 100% worth the cost.
I was supposed to leave an hour ago to go ride. Natural light and 2000's rock strikes again.
Anyways off i go!
My ex wife decided she wanted to leave 2 years ago.
The lawyer, my family and common sense told me to sell my bike to help pay the lawyer fees. So I did.
Then I used the money from that bike and put it down on the xc. It was a middle finger to everyone telling me what to do. Worked out ok.
I dont wish divorce on anyone. Especially with children involved.
That is to misquote Steve McQueen.
55+ class?
You sayin he's old cause his bike is so nice? 🤣
I'm 56 myself. lol
Usually sportsman classes because im not racing for points.
Yea my bike is clean. What else am I supposed to do the other 28 days a month I can't ride?
Nope, the silver/grey backgrounds match the Silver Master Hare Scramble class.
Stand corrected, how about to paraphrase Steve McQueen, the king of cool.
Pit Row
Thank you for fixing that. The story of what it took for him to get his/this movie made is very interesting.
Judging by my garage it's more like a problem
But not to me of course....😎 "Oh I have too many bikes" - said no one ever
I agree with Gravel, I can't imagine not having at least 1 bike in the garage ready to go. Needs nothing, just get on and go, always there if you need it. Like a mental health insurance policy lol
I haven’t rode in almost a year. A break was needed for sure, but I’ve really been getting the itch for a day in the woods again. Not looking forward to realizing how out of shape I am on that first ride back though.
Honestly it was less of a correction than a chance to post the video, he is the King of Cool like you say afterall.
I made a t-shirt that I actually paraphrased it myself. It says, "Racing is life, everything before or after is just waiting."
Just think how much better you will feel on the second ride!
Every time I swing my leg over for the first moto of the day, I say a quick prayer and remind myself how lucky I am to get to do this. It's a feeling like no other!
I didn't get divorced, but I had a long and stressful decade+ of poverty thanks to the Great Recession. I kept my YZ250 running on chewing gum and baling wire, and even "sold" it to my dad for a while. There were times when I went 12 months or more without riding, but just having the bike in the garage kept me sane.
That’s all the motivation I need 😎
Sometimes I get pissy with my wife and she tells me I need to go ride. I love her very much and it's starting to get harder to pretend to "get pissy" with her... Hope I can keep riding! 5-6x a month for me and loving it.
I think I just found my first tattoo.
Riding has been a huge part of my life for 48 years. As I got older it was what kept me sane.
Now approaching 60 with lots of injuries behind me and 40+ years of a heavy lifting/ lane job, I only dream of being able to ride like I did when I was younger and had less damage to the body !
Enjoy every minute of Moto, ya never know when it’s your last day.
Retired military with 33 years of service … it’s my way to cope with severe PTSD, if i don’t ride regularly i’m a complete A hole, not just a regular A hole per my wife 😂
Post a reply to: Its not just a dirtbike.
