Truth is Ben is also making good money riding on the Beta and would make considerably less on a B-team and probably no overseas races either.

I'd be curious to know what you guys think Beta is paying nowadays. Obviously, they came in hot with Van Horebeek at around 250k...

Well he rode a factory Yamaha and Kawasaki and was always around 10th, just like he is on the Beta. Not knocking Ben in any way at all, but he's a solid 10th place guy on any bike. He could easily get a ride on a B team with production based bikes, but he's sticking with Beta. So the bike isn't that bad.

If Elzinga gets on the Beta and finishes around 10th in MXGP, he should be quite happy with that.

So where do you think Ben would finish if he jumped on a SR Motoblouz Honda (for example)?

Gatedrop dropped a rumour that Nestaan will expand their program with two EMX250 riders. Dean Gregoire and Dani Heitink are the names shared to being added to the structure. Fwiw, Heitink shared last week that he was parting ways with MJC Yamaha and shared a few videos on a Husqvarna 250f

i think this is the motovation team that Gregoire raced for in emx125 and that they will get some support via husqvarna from Nestaan.

Less than that, think more like 40-70k range.

My thoughts too, so he's better off earning a salary and finishing 10th on the Beta isn't he...

Would be a shame to lose the nr. 3 from the MXGP Championship to the USA, but it looks like it's going to happen.

Just for outdoors I'm assuming...

De Wolf will remain in MX2 category next year.

And Rossi will finally ride for Maddii Honda team in MX2 too.

it’s crazy De Wolf stay in MX2 for one more year. He’s too big for keeping sandbagging that class and has already proved what he’s able to do on a 450.

It’s called scaredddd. De wolf should have moved up already. All he’s doing is hurting himself, impeding his own progress.

Kay is only 20 years old. He has been in mx2 since 2021, so four seasons. It is not very smart to go to the mxgp bike if you are mentally ready. Aa the big bike will hurt young guys easily

2021-2022-2023-2024-2025 means five seasons, and he'll turn 21 next week. But to state he's "scared" is just ridiculous. He was obviously trying to get that second MX2 title, meaning he would have to go to MXGP anyway, so cesar_rc4's statement makes no sense at all. As long as he's allowed to race in MX2, why not.

Yeah, my take its a litle bit "hard".

But i think he has nothing to prove in mx2 and more to prove in mxgp with big boys but thats only my opinion.

His talent and his speed fits more in mxgp in my eyes.

I also don't understand why Husqvarna wouldn't 'push' him to MXGP, their best chance to grab the MXGP title is with De Wolf I guess.
If you look at the style of De Wolf in MX2 I think a 450 suits him much better and perhaps he'll get a bit 'calmer' on the 450 because the power is already there and he doesn't have to work as hard as on the 250...

Perhaps De Wolf saw how close Lucas Coenen was to burning his 250SX eligibility and doesn't want to risk it. Yes, in a roundabout way I just blamed Prado lol

its all about the money.

DeWolf is more than capable of being an MXGP podium guy - he proved that last off season - but he will make more money in MX2.

KTM group is offering lower contracts to their 2026 riders due to their financial difficulties.

De Wolf has been leapfrogged by Coenen, who by going MXGP in 2025 became the successor to Herlings at KTM group, and now he has been beaten by Langenfelder, he doesnt have to go up. BUT if he doesnt, and gets beaten again in 2026, either by Langenfelder, or Sacha Coenen, what does that do for his worth , 1 title in 6 attempts, (granted, he was young when he came up ) isnt a good look when you were supposed to be the next big thing , and the guy who came up behind you 'might' win MXGP in 2026.

Its very hard to fathom, but does KTM group get more value from him staying down to race Langenfelder and Coenen again, or move him up , to give them 2 shots at a 450 title, with Coenen on the KTM, or does Adamo get  that chance as he is aged out.

With Herlings going to Honda and Gajser at Yamaha, both having the opportunity to be off the pace early season, you need to have skin in the game, especially if Coenen gets hurt, you will be pissed up with riders in MX2 and watch the MXGP crown go uncontested from your team.

What i will say, is that MXGP with Herlings, Gajser, Febvre , Vialle, Coenen, De Wolf, Renaux all fit, with Vlaanderen, Fernandez, and Gifting etc, looks a far better prospect for a close championship than the AMA does at this point.

I would say that staying down and not winning it again, would be a disaster, more than being 5th or 6th in MXGP.

Would Vialle be considered a podium contender in MXGP?
