I generally like and respect Chase but it really pisses me off when any athlete who gets paid millions of dollars to to play or compete in a sport feels like they are making some kind of huge sacrifice or providing some sort of service to the fans beyond entertainment.  No, Chase, you and your fellow competitors are not “giving your lives” for this sport.  You are getting paid millions of dollars to play a game, work out, travel the world, be semi-famous, retire before 30 of you so choose, and have the rest of your life to live with freedom that few will ever know.

I think you lack perspective.

Soccer and volleyball has 7 and 2.5 injuries per 1000h. SX has 150.

Nicky Lauda in F1 was famous for his statement that he accept a certain level of risk, but not more. It's not worth it. In Rush  i think they translated this to 15% is acceptable, 20% is not worth in anymore.

You can apply your way of describing the pro-life to bowling or tennis. Not MX and certainly not SX.

He should have to say that face to face with a firefighter, teacher, and pastor and give them all a good laugh. "Gave my life" entails a sacrifice, what chase means is "I invested my life".

Haven't heard lately, is Vialle going back to Europe?

Typical comment from people that hasnt been at the top and not actually risking their life on the track 🙄.

Im sorry, but its ignorant saying training and traveling the world is a benefit when you are a pro athlete in this sport. Its not Dart we are talking about where you have a beer between sessions.

I travel the world working, its not a fucking benefit, its a pain in the ass.

Your chart is “by sport” which shows you lack perspective.

From Google/AI:

Firefighter Fatalities

Total Deaths: 62 on-duty firefighter fatalities in 2024.

Law Enforcement Fatalities

Total Deaths: 148 officers died in the line of duty in 2024.

Not to mention the average of around 900 military service members who make the ultimate sacrifice (during peacetime) every year.

Sports doesn’t even make the list for dangerous, non law-enforcement/firefighter or military jobs.

Yea it's sports, because that is what we do.

You want to compare it to Russian soldiers also where survival time was said to be 2 weeks at the front after you where sent?

We can call up Brian Mureau or Stiles Robertsson and ask them if they think they consider themselves successful. Sitting on the couch not even being able to do a lap on sx track is describing a narrow minded person's view.

There is a handful of MX/SX riders that make it to Chase level, out of a few hundred thousand.

So that's the actual thing that bothers you, you are just pissed because you still have to do that, after 47 years.

There is a word for it. Jealously, and it ain't a pretty thing.

Let's compare it to the soldiers at the front of the Ukrain war. You have a bed you can sleep in and you also have been able to do it for 47y, meaning you survived. You, are spoiled.

So, stop complaining. There will always be someone who has it worse than you.

What about all the weekend warrors that get hurt or die while riding as a HOBBY, sorry a professional chooses their career and risks.

Some do as a meaingfull service to society, others do it as entertainers. Regardless. Reality is only family and friends feel the pain.

I think the only thing that would actually fit from a KYB shock is some of the older 50mm pistons.

Fork is different. Viałle is on airfork so that is not KYB.

Viałle either runs factory shock, Xact Pro shock, WP OEM shock or KYB complete shock.

From the looks, seems to be factory shock.

Can’t run a factory shock on 250’s…suspension on a 250 has to be available for others to purchase that’s why the 250’s are always on “A-kit” suspension.

They get around that if they want, unless rules has changed in details last few years.

52mm factory forks you could get them but had to buy/sign up for minimum 3 i think it was, and it was with some service agreement attached to it which kind of made it unattractive/unfeasible for non factory teams.

Still looks like a factory shock on the bike.

I was thinking the same. Either pro shock doesn't work for US riders or they use different spec and parts in US with all the fading talk.

You would think that Dewolf and Herlings and Coenen would destroy that shock with how the track was from this weekend. Makes the US tracks look like MotoGP tracks.

What would an NDA state that could be an issue? Seems like that would be one very specific, red flag of an NDA to anyone that was required to sign that. "If anything is our fault, you have to take the heat and look like a piece of trash? Anything wrong with our equipment must not be discussed with anyone?"

Unfortunately that's pretty much how it is in the real world. I'm a sales rep for a company that supplies several brands and I don't talked negatively about the products while in a professional setting. I am paid a small fraction of what these riders are getting and if something goes wrong I am responsible for taking the heat and fixing the problem.

I also dont get in to arguments saying things like you don't understand the behind the scenes etc and then asked why reply with "well I can't say". My clients would tell me to stfu if you can't/wont explain yourself and just fix the problem.

They've had rear shock issues ever since Sexton had them build Temu KYB suspension from WP. They've been trying to cool down the rear shock since last summer. Remember the weird 3d printed rear shock cooling duct they used a few times on Sexton's bike?

Was it common knowledge that KTM was having shock problems? Did "everyone" know?

I lurk on this forum as much as the next guy but I had no idea.
