Anyone that sponsors this family should really reconsider their support, well unless they have an EKS brand sponsorship, that would be fitting…

The funny thing is that people who can't see that what they did was wrong never become convinced of it because they suffer consequences. That only makes them feel like they were the victim all along and males them more convinced that they were justified all along because of it.

Pulp giving this guy a platform is pretty weak. I am not even going to listen to this week's show. Loser shit.

I dunno. I think in cases like this and the Mirtl situation, it only made them look worse and it wasn’t like Pulp was gassing them up or excusing them along the way.

Mirtl was the agent to the biggest stars in our sport. Eddie Ray is a cheating, never was. Ask anyone who used to race with him. This is the least shocking cheating scandal ever.

Pulp, DB, etc acting shocked that their known to be scummy friends are in fact scummy is hilarious.

Okay but you’re whining about “platforming”. My point was Pulp giving him a shot to show his side of the story (just like with Mirtl) only made things worse for the interviewee. Normally complaints about platforming someone means it could lead your audience to their outlet. But they don’t have one. At the end of the day he’s just another mini dad.

I don’t feel like anyone unaware of this LL drama beforehand came out of that interview thinking Eddie was in the right so it may have only harmed his business in the process.

If this was any other person that wasn't boys with Steve they wouldn't even have had a chance to tell their side of the story. Steve isn't letting some other random 50 parents caught cheating come on his show, that's for sure.

These people shouldn't be allowed to race AMA moto for a while, but no they still have a track that somehow will still get a qualifier next year and Steve having him on the show softens that damage regardless of how much of an idiot the guy sounds like.

Cheaters in this sport should be cast out not given ample opportunities to tell their side.

Dude WTF Eddie Ray. That interview was fucking insane.

‘There’s no rule against breaking the rules’

‘I did what I thought was best for my kid’really you thought having your kid cheat to get in was best for him??  Putting your kid in that situation was best for him??

What an absolute crock of shit. Dude should be banned from LL for a couple years at least.

"There's no rule against breaking the rules" !!!!  That was gold.  WOW....20 minutes of absolute rambling, zero accountability, and talking in circles.  He would be way better off if he had not gone on the show.

I don't think anybody that has ever witnessed ray in action is surprised.

I remember him all the way back in his schoolboy days, and he appears to have become exactly the person one would have expected.

Nobody would know who he is if he had not married Patterson.

I am wondering if maybe Daniel Blair saw something after being around him that made him decide to not get involved in NXT LVL and go to club instead.

I bet Keefer is hoping for this whole fiasco. including his comments, to just go away.

Eddie appears to be enjoying dragging it out.

All of us here know how wrong it was, but I expected the usual "I just bought the bike and didn't know" stuff. But instead, we got Leslie Chow! " And it's funny because he's fat!"

if my man SLowie gets a lifetime ban for tarnishing the great name of Mx sports, it's only fair this family receives same. Kid will have to find someone else to bring him to the races and will be subjected to a probationary rag in the airbox for 12 months upon return.

It was one of the biggest stories coming out of Loretta’s and they are people in the industry. You’re surprised he interviewed him?

There’s no winning. Steve doesn’t interview him “he’s hiding the story since he’s friends with them!”
Steve interviews him “shame on him for platforming him!”

I called the guy a piece of shit and the general consensus is that the interview made him look even worse. How is that a problem?

Steve and Keefer got on there and said bold things straight to the man on air.  That isn’t easy to do in an industry that’s shoulder to shoulder.  I actually had a lot of respect for them getting on there and being honest with the dude about their takes.

That was hard to listen to. Admit you were wrong apologize and don’t do it again. Pretty simple.

Sounds like Jessica wasn't aware of what was happening since he mentioned she didn't talk to him for a week after finding out.   After she sees the shit show Eddie had  on Pulp...might be a month before he hears her voice again.  Hard to believe that someone comes on a podcast to explain what happened and hopefully take some of the heat off the situation and then comes across like he did no wrong.

After listening to Eddie’s bs, I commented on a post from the regional yesterday  “I bet the kid in 7th would have loved to go to the ranch.”

JP responded with something like “He did. What about all the other kids who took from other kids by  qualifying and then racing other regionals. Make sure to go comment on their posts. Plus, he didn’t race the area and regional on the same bike.”

I responded with some logical points about “whataboutism”, admitting you took from others, and not believing cheaters (Eddie went silent when asked about the qualifier bike).

I also said it’s a bummer all this happened as my parents have a new home near their track and my intentions were to set up a USA base for myself and my team.

Blocked.

I appreciate Keefer being honest about who he is.

Remember kids, once a cheater, always a cheater.

Dude I like Steve and support his content fully. Not one person was thinking "Steve should have Eddie Ray on to tell his side".

He was caught cheating flat out. There is no story to tell. If Jessica had got on there, then maybe that's a different story, because she's a former pro champion and is directly implicated. But having some ex truck driver who used to be a local pro that most people will tell you is slimy is/was unnecessary.

Blacklist cheaters, don't normalize them. I don't get what's so difficult about that concept. This isn't the first time he cheated, just the first time he got caught.

It’s because you keep using terms like “platforming” and “normalizing” as if his appearance on the PulpMX show did him any favors.

The whole call was pretty contentious from Keefer and Matthes, I don’t see how that’s a problem. Laser Gate was one of their best shows because they allowed Tony to come on and try to defend himself in the court of public opinion. Should he have not done that? Was that normalizing cheaters?

Dumbest response of at least August.  He didn't give him a platform and that jackass showed his true colors in the interview.  These are the interviews we need and without this it would already be forgotten.  Now 1000's will see how Eddie Ray operates.  Cheating and lying, no problem.

Yes. Letting a known cheater who screwed over young kids on the pulp show - that has an opening that states "it's a thriving platform with over 20m downloads" is platforming him.

You're so focused on the weirdest nuances of this conversation.

I like Steve, this was a rare misstep. It happens. I don't think he needs you defending him so hard.

I promise you this wasn't the intention. They are boys. This was meant to humanize the situation, however Eddie is such an idiot he messed that up too. No one is debating that Eddie came off like an idiot on the show. I'm saying that loser doesn't need an interview at all.

I agree with that, but the interview showed true colors and he would cheat again tomorrow.  Any families at Next Level are delusional or don't know about this.  Keefer was incredibly disappointing too

Yeah, your argument would make sense if they brought him on and glazed him.

You think it’s a misstep, that’s fine. I disagree and that’s why we just had a back and forth.  Neither your opinion or mine is fact. I’m not defending Steve but rather going against your view on interviewing someone. My only focus in our b ack and forth is your “how dare he?!” attitude. You keep insinuating that this interview made Eddy and his facility look better. In my opinion, Pulp just exposed this guy for what he is in front of his audience. That’s a win in my book.

Eddie Ray needs to learn a lesson, somehow, someway because he still doesn't see the truth.  Sad.

People forget what Steve formatted his show after. He has always said he wanted it to be like talk radio. Most of talk radio is people calling in. Those shows love to have the bad guy call in for the sake of discussion. Steve has pretty consistently given anyone involved in stories that get any interest on social media or the industry the chance to come on and tell their side of the story. Not sure why anyone is against this? Half the time these people do themselves more harm than good so it's not like he's doing them some big favor.

Tell me you are a crazy 50 parent without telling me you are a crazy 50 parent: (to paraphrase): we cheated to level the playing field. You can't make this stuff up. You literally did exactly the opposite of leveling the playing field. On one hand I applaud the balls to come on the show, but Jeezus he made himself look 10X worse by doing so.

Moto has some of the Best people involved and majority do it for Family. BUT

My son was always being accused of cheating on his 65cc & 85cc stock. I know sfa about mechanics and to get through Scruitineering was a win esp at State level.

Getting ready for his last 85cc season we couldnt afford a new RM85. I offerred $3k upfront and we leave bike in shop, only race the 5 rounds. I pay for all Tyres, chains ,Sprockets Oils etc. When bike gets sold if they short on the $6k I make it up. NO Sorry.

So I emailed Pro Circuit & cut a deal for $2700, I send Motor and they do rebuild, Head ,Barrell work and use Only Stock Suzuki Parts + send 5 new Rm Pistons, gaskets etc. Great but got 14 emails + 2 phone calls back saying hey we have done 17 already for your area and we have the best Cranks etc etc. No one will ever know. NO Sorry.

Finally got it back, he races first round and kicks Arse. Getting ready for Nationals and he was holeshotting the 125cc at all in practice, which had serious work done to it so we knew he had a chance.

Get to Nationals and had dinner with riders parents from our state. Olm8 asks me did I bring the Cheater bike??? Ffs I had known him for 2 + years both helped each other, his son was current National Champ Wtf???

They had brought a New rule in that at Tech All heads will be Sealed etc etc. We had bought 3 Tech guns with drill bits to help people out. What a Fuking shamozzle, I did my shift then grabbed our 85cc & 125cc. I asked before you seal them, I want them Measured. NO Sorry, oh yes you will as per the Rule Book. Which they eventually did. 85 came out at 84.7 i think which even he said ??? Wiered. 125cc comes out at 127.? I think and my heart sank, but forgot you are allowed 2.5% so all good.

Sorry Too Long but I love winning but No way in the World could I ever Cheat for or with my son Ffs.

The REAL Problem here is as per usual Gutless Officials, a Ban soon stops others but nah she'll be right mate they All do it.
