the Lawrence brothers are a historic breath of fresh air.
Weigandt crystalized it in the broadcast, describing the reasons he never expected dominance of this nature to happen again.
this truly feels like the formulative 1985 - 1988 years, as Sexton and Tomac among others are top tier champions on the same level, similar to how Glover, Lechein, Bailey, O’Mara and others were real-deal champions when Johnson (who Jett reminds me of a lot) and Ward were dominating.
Jett was magnanimous in his words on Eli, just one of many examples of his very marketable persona, and with Deegan entering the class next year I’m with Weigandt - I didn’t expect this either.
that being said, my favorite racer to watch when the gate was about to drop, especially in SX, was Ryan Villlopoto, and those years were phenomenal as well.
anyway, yea we’re in a good place.
Jett vs deegan is setting up to be some all time racing years. You have the prodigy who has only ever lost 2 races vs the scrappy shit talker who always delivers on the big stage. An immovable object vs an unstoppable force. Gonna be epic.
well said and agreed
Deegan got beat today. Jet was typical Jet no matter the track so not so sure about that? Time will tell.
Deegan can only beat Hunta & Jett by doing what he does best, course cutting and raming.
That said, massive respect to Tomac, he really is an amazing pro rider. Dedicated and fast. 💪

Couldn't disagree more. Dominance is by far the most boring scenario. I've always liked McGrath, but he pretty much ruined supercross in the 90's for me as a fan.
Deegan couldn't even see Shimoda today and you think he's going to give Jett problems? I know, Deegan didn't need to clinch today but neither did Jett.
I do actually
Deegan isn't even in the conversation until he does something on a big bike. This assumption that he'll be right there competing with Jett because of what he's done in the baby class is insane.
Agreed. The correlation between success on a 250 and success on a 450 is pretty close to zero.
I doubt Deegan (even in his first 3 yrs) will straight up beat Jett.
Looking forward to 2026 and seeing what Deegs can do.
So the Lawrence boys should just pack up and quit the sport because they dominate? Or maybe just let some other riders win so the sport is not ruined for fans like yourself? Nah they should definitely keep doing what they are doing also don’t forget when Sexton is on it he keeps Jett honest Moto 2 Washougal before the red flag was next level between Jett, Sexton, Hunter & Eli! If predictions are correct from all the Deegan fan’s the next few years are going to be exciting between Jett, Sexton, Hunter & Deegan.
💯
Deegan has a lot of work ahead of him.
What a strange assumption and also very reflective of modern society, defaulting to thinking that everything needs to be shaped such that it makes me happy all the time. Of course not, that would be super dumb and against AMA rules for racing. There is nothing that should be done. It's okay for things to exist in this country that I don't like. I let the race fully record and once Jett is in the lead, I start skipping ahead, so instead of watching 20-something minutes of a boring 450 moto, I watch two minutes, and everything is as it should be.
Next year it will be a race first, then Deegan, and everyone else.
Pretty disrespectful to someone who shows soo much grit. Not the biggest Deegs fan but mad respect for his accomplishments stemming from a deep down desire to win, even at the expense of riding well over his head at times. A lot of racers are not even near his motivation to win!
Well thanks for letting us all know that you find the racing boring and you literally skip watching most of it. Sucks to be you I guess 🤷♂️
I could watch any pro...especially Jett, Hunter, Deegan destroy a track with no one else out there. I appreciate their skill and style and speed. It just never gets boring to me.
I don't really know how Deegan will stack up in the big boys class. I do know, from what I've seen from him so far, he'll kill hisself before he gives up. That's fucking bold.
Pit Row
Incorrect. History has shown repeatedly that winners are winners. I personally think Deegan will find a way to compete. Maybe not immediately but I think he is a determined little shit and just might have it in him to get under Jetts skin and ruin his perfect world. I’m looking forward to it and will enjoy every minute of it.
You know you can look this stuff up? You're the one who is incorrect....
This century Pastrana, Brown, Tedesco, Canard, AP, Jmart, Dean, Baggett, Webb, AC, hunter....... if we're talking outdoor championships there's more 250 champs that don't ever get one on 450 than there is guys that do. Sexton has a 450 title and didn't do anything on a 250 outdoors.
The list of 250 SX champs that never won one on big bike is even longer.
Deegan will need to keep his racing clean or Jett’s enforcer will deal with him. Hunter didn’t seem to mind taking out Shimoda a couple of years ago. He will probably have a big grin on his face if he decides he needs to put Deegan over a berm.
My only gripe with Jett would be with his fans, less so him. He's treated most times as if he walks on water. He dropped in in a corner back to back weeks, millville and washougal. If lets say deegan did that, all you'd hear is how he's pushing too hard, he cant handle the intensity exc exc. When its Jett, its an everyone makes mistakes mentality.
