Wow that’s nice. I’m guessing that’s the “extended high roof” model? I was looking at some regular high roofs but I think I’m gonna need the extended length if I want to have a comfy bunk like you got.
Fits three full size Moto bikes.
I have a 12v heat and AC unit inside the bench, along with a refrigerator and Kurig coffee maker. Plus a portable cassette toilet for the lady. The bench folds up to access all that. There is also a Laguna table that pops onto the bench for eating etc. I use a heated rinse kit for the shower. I went over board with insulation and sound deadening. Pretty much everything I need. But not much extra.

2015 express 2500 I picked up with 78k mi on it, I've put almost 10k on it so far. Love this thing. Drinks gas around town and up/down hills, but on trips I average low to mid 20s on MPGs, which I'm not complaining from a 6L V8. Does way better than my Tacoma on fuel on trips
Been chipping away on mine for over a year, almost done…
Low to mid 20,s loaded up ? That’s pretty good . My best loaded up bike , water, tools was 21 mpg . 95 g20 350 5.7 kat delete a few bolt on performance parts . Billet alum under drive pulley kit from my 90,s pu , tbi torque spacer, pod spacer, thicker wires, kn, accel hotter coil ,turbo muffler Advanced timing a tiny bit . It runs better with a brass insert accel distributor & rotor.I,m taking the luggage rack off & I think the oem fuel pump is getting weak. I get 16 in town empty . I should get a front air dam but hv to take it off for winter. My last 95 got around 25 best of 29 with 92 octane I ported the intake too. We don’t hv reformulated fuel here that on the bottom of the state.
Sorry, somehow I missed your post almost a year ago.
I just went basic in the back with a wall and a shelf for my gear. Excuse the tractor fenders.
Up front I did a bed frame with good storage underneath. I try and keep the bike stuff in the back and camping stuff up front under the bed. I just wanted something simple and not so expensive. It's been great for weekend camping and riding.
Love this setup, but there is no chance you are getting mid 20 MPG out of a GM 6L.
Our in progress build. Tall extended transit. We just finished painting it. Thinking about doing the rims in black. Holds 3 bikes. Has a jack knife couch, building out the second bed up top that will be 48" × 69" it will slide out from the 24" flat part of the dividing wall. I have the carpet for the walls, and vinyl for the flooring. Im trying to figure out the batteries and other electrical that I want/need.
This is mostly highway trips. I'll post a pic of my scangauge average, driving up to San Francisco today.
Usually low 20s on trips but if I drive it like you ride a two stroke (carry momentum) I have been low to mid 20s average.
Scangauge is a nice tool to optimize your driving habits. Around town I average 13mpg, but this is a lot of stop and go, up and down hills.
Pit Row
Great idea
Add Sea foam or Lucas injector cleaner , it adds mpg . Would a 5.3 do better on mpg ? What yr is your Van ? I like the look much better than the other newer vans. I took the luggage rack off since the pic & painted the wheels white again.
Got me an old box truck that needs some paint, anyone just used exterior paint and primer?
Seafoam does some magical stuff, good to run it right before you plan on swapping plugs. I agree, new Sprinters are nice but way above my budget. This is a single owner 2015, had under 80k mi and was very clean overall.
I was looking at the smaller motor too, but found this and jumped on it. From what I've read smaller one isn't that much better on gas because it works a lot harder in general.
I've been really happy with it so far. I will post more pictures when I get the inside a little more dialled in.
You need to post updated pictures without the rack! I will be building a low profile rack that will mostly be for solar panels. Keep it low profile/discreet.
Sounds like you scored a rare find a single owner 2015 with 80k your Van is pretty sharp too. I bought the 95 g20 out of state with 100k . Seafoam & Lucas is good stuff but turns the plugs white I change the plugs twice a yr AC Delco . So it starts in below zero weather & I don’t hv problems changing them . I tore a plug end in 1/2 the last time tho , I borrowed a end from my old plug wires. Original starter & fuel pump . It’s pretty fun to drive last summer a Chicago co my 1st day I roll in. A cute tall skinny Ukraine chic all excited smiling says is that your van ? I said yeah it is honey want to go for a quick ride , let’s go . She hopped in I shifted it manually from 1st spinning the tires , she’s laughing . The sprinters are cool but I here some of the engines don’t hold up . I change oil using reg Kastrol 5w30 recommended & use Risolene additive only in summer every 1k- 1,200 mi , oil is cheap . Some of these van interiors on here are Very impressive.
No hitch Rup? Don’t tell me you haul it in the back!😎😂
Not the most convenient to load but pretty comfy to sleep
