Holy Shit!! ADM on New Bikes.

I was in Chaparral Motorsports yesterday and Del Amo Motorsports today looking for fork seals. Chap had a $1295 ADM on KX450s and Del Amo had $895 ADM on an FC450. Del Amo also had even more on an adventure bike. $2195. Are tariffs at work here? I guess I'll just keep patching up my FC450.

ADM became normal here after covid. All bikes are now "on sale" with $500-$2000 off, and then still have ADM. Drives me nuts, and I work in the industry here in San Diego.

They are just trying to make a buck.  Del Amo was like that several years ago.  Needless to say, I just walked out.

Del Amo has been doing this even before covid. They don't care if people walk out. Their business model is : If you don't buy it, someone else will.  Shady dealership as far as advertising goes.

I wouldn't buy a bottle of water from them if my dick was on fire.

Dealerships in the midwest are advertising '25 KX 250/450s for 5K and 6k.  No doubt there are the usual fees, etc plus mandatory financing (or pay an extra $400 for cash), but these seem like good places to start on a current Kawi MX bike.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Temecula Motorsports had those 25 RMZ450’s listed at $5000. Asked for OTD cash price and was told $7500otd. I laughed and hung up. $500 for tax, DMV fees let’s say $150($90 a few years ago) and freight charge of let’s call it $600. Over $1000 of ADM.

I refuse to buy bikes in CA. Mostly because of taxes and freight/setup fees. Just picked up a 25 KTM 350 XCF Factory Edition from Motosport Hillsboro for $11,499 OTD (MSRP is $13k) No tax, no set up. Power Motosports also does the same.

This is what I'm talking about. It should be considered false advertisement.

Temecula Motorsports is one of the worst at this they will gouge you at every point and even if you call and ask the parts department if they have a part in stock they always say yes and you show up and they don't have it so now if I need something I make them actually put hands on it they do whatever they can to get you in the store and sell! But at least the cashiers are usually cute they keep that going LOL they know their demographic!

Babbits will ship one to your door.  Even in California. Saved $2500 from local dealer with all the fees.

Did you get the KX deal they have?

I was going to brag and say how it's different in Australia.

However I visited the local Large franchise shop just yesterday, and for the first time bikes didn't have any pricing displayed.

They used display final OTD prices.

Times change☹️

When dealers in Australia advertise a price, they are required by law to advertise the full OTD price inclusive of all fees, they are getting around this by not advertising the price.

Ask them why they are not displaying their prices.

In fairness, I wouldn’t call those ADMs. They’re definitely annoying if they aren’t included in any OTD type of quote, but they’re at least legitimate costs for the most part.

The ADMs I think of are the equivalent of an auto dealer’s ‘Market Adjustment’ on the second sticker, or the nitrogen filled tires……

Yep.  The bar box fell out of the crate during shipping.  But they immediately took care of it. They were great to deal with.  Upfront total cost from the first conversation.  Arrived at my house a week later.  Got the title in the mail two weeks later.  Pretty awesome experience.  They were shipping other brands also.  The kx was just a crazy good deal and I honestly really like way it handles and the power delivery.

I was on the Stark website just browsing. If you add a bike to cart they add $1000 for Tariff Fee.

Bike $4999, Tax $500, DMV $150 and Freight $600 = $6249

$7500OTD

ADM- $1251

Shout out to Suzuki of Van Nuys.  I drove over 2 hours to give them business after talking to dealers like Del Amo and having another dealer laugh at me over the phone (peak customer service while trying to have an adult conversation).

All Del Amo did was ask me to come into the showroom and they'd talk "terrific deals" but not a peep over the phone.  👎

That's a whole other story.  Can't escape tariffs when they are set by the current administration. As mentioned, dealers have been adding random "because we deserve it" fees, for years.

I bought fork seals because they were the only ones that had them and I was in Bellflower anyway like, 5 minutes away. It was there or Escondido.
