The OEM filters have become obscenely priced. The reviews on the Hiflo seems to be very good.

Have been using for years. Quality product, no issues. TUV tested which is a bonus.
Used them a lot 05-15, then the local shops stopped carrying Hiflo. Never had an issue with them and we used A LOT of them.
Use any of them in the RM-Z?
Have used them in our Honda’s, 250 & 450’s, since 2017. Zero issues.

I’ve used them in my Yamaha fjr for years, no issues.
Nah, only in our Kawi's and Yami's back during that time.
We've been using the DT1's in the RMZ's because we get them at a really good price and those have been just as good as OEM.
Yes. We sell and use hundreds of them for servicing machines at our shop. They are good.
Used for years, great product ✌️
Same thing as the others, I’ve used them with no complaints.
We have done hundreds of hours with these filters with no issues
Used them for years, hundreds of hours. No issues, theyre great.
They are good filters from my experience
Been using for years like 20+ only thing I can say is make sure you verify the filter is exactly the same before you install it. I bought a 6 pack off eBay and one of them was not the same!!!
Nope
Scott’s SS reusable filter
Been using them for years now on two different bikes that rack up for a total of over 200hrs (new every 5 hrs). Not a single complaint.
Yes, used them for many years with no issues.
Have cycled a few in the mix between oem on the rmz, no issues thankfully!
I have used them as well with zero complaints.
Pit Row
Yep, all I use.
I used them with good results in the past and them had one collapse and burn up the head on my KTM. They wanted to look and it and I sent it to England I believe and they didn't do anything about my engine. Many filters are made by Hiflo like K&N unless they changed.
I’ll see if I can find it, I read somewhere that the SS filters don’t filter very well. They called it a screen, not a filter.
OTOH, my brother ran a couple of YZ400/426s to about 400 hours of abusive riding using SS oil filters
If you change the oil enough it probably doesn’t matter much
It's the only filter I sell other than OEM. Once a customer goes out of warranty, I tell them about Hiflo. In most applications they flow 33% more than stock and filter better.
Gravel; after talking with my chief engineer his professional answer to filters are as follows.
There is normally a primary and secondary oil filter on most engines.before that there will be a centrifuge that spins the oil through a screen to keep the big bits out of the small galleries.
Small engines dont have most of these parts.
Regardless if you use a paper filter or a SS filter they are the same, do the same in the end.
SS filters have 2 layers if you were to cut it open .outer screen you can see and the inner screen is just around the tube that the oil returns to the engine.
Paper filter are the same in construction, the only difference is the paper is exposed to the elements and has a greater chance of failure if the filter was to collapse or tear.
Buy and use what ever you choose.but for a cost saving measure buy a SS filter.ive got them in 2 TM bikes and they are more than 5 yrs apart in age and funny enough the part numbers are the same.
If you get a new bike brand all the time ,bet the part numbers are are the same for each as most engines builders don’t change the oil circulation path internally every time they build an new bike model.
I change the oil after 2 hrs and wash the SS filter at that time. If the skid plate covers the filter access cover and it’s only a slight trim to get at it w/o removing the skid plate.
II believe Hiflo makes the K&N oil filters. Been using HF oil filters for 21 years and their air filters on BMW street bikes.
I've been using them for years and no issues. No quality issues I have witnessed. Hell, I've been using TUSK ones for how often I change my oil in the bike.
They did in the past which is why the part numbers are the same (HF138=KN138) but quite a few years ago now K&N switched suppliers and they are total garbage. They aren't even allowed to be used on pretty much any road race track now as they kept leaking.
