Sorry to offend if I do, but moto media types are below average people, save for a few notable exceptions. Not even mentiong Matthed or Langston, Pingree's recent public attack on Phillips, Weege "exposing" Deegan racing 450s (he never thought to call and ask Deegan first?), Keefer's public jerk off talk and torque recommendations, Cooksey's numerous wig outs, all the way back to the 70s there has been plenty of weirdos and dingbats in moto media. And they all are the first ones to say they are all weirdos and dingbats except themselves. They are the clowns of the circus.
Seems early to call out Weigandt for the Deegan story.
1) The MX season isn't over yet, so it's still possible Deegan will ride a 450. The story can't be wrong yet.
2) RacerX claims to have confirmed the story with Bobby Regan.

The original post said Creepy Bobby had 'greenlit' Deegan doing it. But that doesn't mean the Deegans are going to do it or want to do it, just that they can if they decide to. When Weege got heat for it being fake news, his next post said Coombes had got the info from Bobby. Which still doesn't mean anything. All the info amounts to is the same 'greenlight' stuff.
I just hope if the Suzuki rider ever decides to reveal themselves they don't get shit for it. If you want to ride a Suzuki that's entirely up to you. Unfortunately, the SMX Pride post fiasco revealed an unpleasant strain of homophobia exists in the moto community.
GL/Ping and Matthes can call each other whatever they want, that is a 2 sided beef clearly. Ping and GL should have never even mentioned Lewis though. I really enjoy listening to Lewis and I feel like he brings something outside of the norm to moto media.
I do think he maybe was a little tough in the Prado interview, but nowhere near hard enough to deserve being talked about like he was. I guess I also feel like with the way Prado has talked to the media this year, he probably deserved those tough questions.
I think that a very vocal minority of them WANT TO BE the clowns, because clowns are part of the show. There are some that truly believe that they are as important to the show as most of the riders, very similar to Steven A Smith or Skip Bayless. Listen for the ones who, when talking to riders, mechanics, or team managers use “we” often to infer that they are an equal part of the formula.
There are still some that may not practice perfect journalism, but they are about as close as we are going to get in a small, niche sport like this.
You're right there. But, I need to clarify what I said, in that I've never seen it through , in it's entirety, from start to finish. in one go. Always missing bits, over so many viewings of it.

Also being ping and GL, how tf can you not respect Lewis coming over to chase a dream. In a way they did that too during their racing career, going overseas for races etc. It really makes me question their mental state, and their sponsors should too imo
