I have only rode a few 4 stokes in my life that had a rev limiter, but all the bikes I have ridden loose power way before the limit hits and when it does all drive is gone.. Was it just the bikes I rode or what? It sounds like some of these guys are always in rev limit.
If you're talking the pros, their ECU tuning is way different than we can get so yeah, they're probably making power all the way.
A stock SXF has 14k rev limit i think and makes max power at 13.7.
MXGP Austria bikes revs out at 15.500 i think it was, and it pulls all the way 😂
200rpm is a lot, i an easily feel it when i modify my ECU and Max rev on it, or if i shift power curve up or down some so power comes earlier or later.
So 1000-1500rpm extra which i assume Deegans bike also has is A LOT, its like having a 350 with the torque available also 😂
Yes, I was talking about pros, but I guess I though that the fact the bikes are cutting out they are loosing power even when going down a face jump., I just remember back when I first saw Jeremy Mcgrath, he always seemed to be at peak hp when he landed off jumps.
Maybe it's the 4 stroke thing.
It's a good thing Deegan's engine has one or there'd be a lot more lunched Star motors.
I thought he'd gotten better but that thing seemed to be on the limiter for half the lap at Washougal.

That's my question is he making more power or just noise?
With Deegan I think he lets off over jumps but his hand position keeps the throttle open a little so it bounces off the rev limiter.
Wow, so you down vote a question? I guess you don't like the question.
It doesn't sound good but technically having the engine reved up when landing shortens the path to getting power to the ground. The way most people ride they time it to rev up later or so that it is exactly peaking when you hit the ground so you won't hear it the same way. Don't think he gets more power just minimize the risk of lagging when landing.
Had a pro friend ride like that on 250 but he didn't have Deegan speed so it became a bit ridiculous. Still fast though 😄
Depends on the power curve his engine has. If it peaks right at the top of the rev range, then that’s where he needs to be, but if not, it’s just noise.
Rev what ? True shifting below topend ovr rev is the fastest . Practicing manual on back wheel threw the 1st corner in deep sand leaving the pits . I
Screamed it out in 4th it still pulls on ovr rev good enough to manual . I cut left & rt on the back wheel spin threw the dry sand into the moist sand . The engine changes pitch
I predict at least 1 dnf for deegans this season due to free reving ….
So, when Deegan goes over a jump does he pull in the clutch and pin it? Otherwise wouldn't it just want to loop out?
Hey Yo Prof! Pick your damn helmet off the ground! 🤣🤣
He's doing this to create rear wheel inertia. The faster the rear wheel's spinning when he gets the wheel back to the ground means more acceleration after landing. For the engine, revving in the air is low torque, so the engine's going to spin up quickly and get onto the rev-limiter fast. The team understands from the data and engine's power curve that in order for their bikes to be in the meat of the torque range when the rear wheel re-connects with the ground, the rear wheel has to be spinning at X speed and the engine needs to be on the rev limiter to achieve that. Not only does this provide greater acceleration post landing, it also helps with suspension dynamics as the bike tends to plant, limit rebound, and stay connected to the ground.
HaHaHahaa, come on Talin, everybody knows Pro125 gets an unlimited supply of custom painted helmets from Picasso & Monet !
This is true!
Maybe they can give him a seat that isn’t yellow.
Pit Row
Can’t do Bro, the AMA suggested I run the bright yellow . To warn other riders of not replicating my speed in the whoops . We hv to think safety 1st. Kinda of like a rd sign . Warning there is a rider on the track with extreme whoop speed . Please do not attempt to pace or follow. Replicating his technique is extremely dangerous with less than Profeshenal abilities.
Prof is busy riding while internet gurus are busy posting!
Bravo Prof!
Desmo...no need for limiter. LOL
They make the squirrels in road racing wear yellow too!

why are you constantly posting pictures of this ugly bike?
best looking bike out there idk what youre talking about
I thought the pros just pinned the throttle off the gate and used the clutch to modulate?
It may not be faster, but goddamn bouncing my 250 and 450 off the limiter when pushing is absolutely a blast. It reminds me of what it felt like to hit the pipe on a 2t.
You obviously have absolutely horrid taste.
This.
Deegan seems to do it way early, though. Ideally, you'd rev the bike so it hits the rev limiter just as you are landing, or better yet, the rev limiter is thinking about it and then doesn't have to engage. (Full momentum, no ignition hiccup.)
Deegan sounds to me like he wants to make sure it gets there, so he revs it early. Way early. As in, "causes excess heat" early. You cannot argue that he doesn't ride aggressively!
Orange County Choppers called, they want their handlebars back
Bob when you can hit the whoops 4 gear wide and skim across the top effortlessly, then you can comment. Until then, let’s leave it to the @profeshenal125. 🤣
