Best feel good story of the year!  Incredible result and story for JM, his Family, the track, and the local fans.  That was beast mode!

Awesome day for JMart. I was thinking about it earlier. Is JMart the most successful small bike (125, 250) rider to never move up? I can't think any any other rider with his credentials that ended their career without moving up.

A bit before my time but did Lamson ever move up?

It's crazy how unlucky martin was with landing a good 450 ride. i have always wondered how that 2017-current era would have looked like in the 450 class outdoors with him in it.

I really hope that he can walk away from this now with peace in mind. It won’t get any better than this.

Don’t forget his second place at Daytona on a 450 that one year!

People hate on J. Smith and RJ for being too old to race in the 250 class but, praise JMart. It’s bizarre.
Pro Motocross needs to adopt the max age rule that MXGP has for the MX2 class.

Amazing ride, amazing story, un real.  Great job to Jer for obviously putting in the work for the final race, and Star Yamaha for making it happen. He can smile now after all the injuries and suffering after his championships.  Great family and guy, so cool to see it happen. Phil may have even smiled

Probably the use of the phrase, beastmode.

That's a term that's been reserved for Eli.

And perhaps the creation of another thread, when the, badass thread, is active.

I see both sides of the coin here.

There are riders who simply are built better for riding the 250 vs. the 450. If the age rule you bring up was implemented, it likely would've helped RJ out if he were able to secure 450 factory ride sooner if he were riding how he is currently. I don't think the majority of us saw him placing top 5's right away in this field. JMart has been injury prone since his crash at Muddy Creek in 2018, where he was pretty much slated to take over the #2 seat at HRC in a year or two at this point of his career.

This brings up another part of the problem too is securing the 450 factory ride without setting the world on fire in the 250's. RJ was always seeming to finish runner up in the points year after year, to me it seems likely that he was over riding the bike trying to get every last ounce of power out of it which many times resulted in RJ doing RJ things. I don't know man

They need to open the class up and combine the East West sx into a single series. Future's for development and once you're a pro, you're full-time.

J Marts first National moto win came at Glen Helen, May 24, 2014. 11 years later he wins his last. Thats a long career of winning.

I totally agree. I also feel like it would give some more meaning to a 250 SX title.

You do make a great point there, about injuries. I guess Forkner would be the poster child of that conversation. 10 years on a 250, lots of potential but, always battling injuries.
I know the JMart story is great. I’ve just always seen the 250/125 class as a spot for newer pros, not vets.

I almost shed a tear for the dude in the final moto. Think we can say alot of ppl in the industry we're blown away and proud that he came out and showed us the 2014-2015 Jmart one last time and he definitely put his all into it. From not racing full time for years to going 3-1 in your final ever pro race. I hope he keeps that trophy in the rig and uses it give the younger guys shit for years to come that a 32 year old beaten and battered ex champ turned hospitality guy came out and put a whooping on them, especially that second moto 🤘 Thank u for that send off Jmart !

For all the heartbreak this sport has given us, seeing him win righted a lot of wrongs in this sport.

IMO, Jeremy is the baddest moto/cyclist in the world. He has seriously been killing it at ultra endurance mountain bike events and to win a moto going out was spectacular. Nobody else doing Leadville100 at his pace is getting anywhere close to qualifying for a national.

What a way to go out for Jeremy, and big kudos to Star for giving him the opportunity to do it.

This is a professional sport where athletes are paid to preform. They’re paid to race the bikes that the teams want them to ride. That’s why they’re hired in the 1st place.

Your perceptions of who should ride what and when are addressed in the amateur ranks.

And then there’s this…

You had to come in here and fuck this up with your concerns that have nothing to do with the point of the thread.

The J Mart story and yesterday’s race are epic tales that really don’t need you shitting on them.

Man, I've raced that leadville race twice.

1999, and 2000.

Just finishing that thing is a massive accomplishment.

Ripping it the way he, and other top pro's have been doing lately... I just can't fathom.

J6 is legend in both two wheel disciplines.

You're right.

Nobody else can claim that.

Who’s going to pay for that ? There are many reasons there's an East and West for the smaller bikes.
The factory backed teams would have less riders and the privateers would have a tough time trying to get to every race. This subject has been beaten to death for the last 25+ years
